Kindle and the big city There is no public transport without that person that reads a very big book showing lit-tle to no interest to the people around them. Stops are made, people keep moving on, but that per-son always forgets to get out of the bus or train. „Next comes Eroii Revoluţiei sta-tion”, said the subway’s driver. That moment, I realized that my stop was five stations back. I was not pay-ing attention because of my new Kindle. I love books. I admit, I truly have a pas-sion for them. Most certainly, when the „Book Lov-ers Association” will have a meeting, I would be the first to participate. I must read all the time. If I don’t have a book during the long trips between my place and university, then I must read everything that is around me. The neighbor’s T-shirt, newspa-per, the flyers, the bills hanged in the subway. But usually, I try to a book with me everywhere I go.. Lately, it’s been difficult to do so. I don’t know why, but my purse is always full with my pocket book, tissues, phone, IPod, pens, pencils, lipstick, powder and stuff that are essential for girls. Twice in the last month I had to read my Facebook notifications all over again because a book simply didn’t fit in my big, but really big handbag. That mo-ment, I decided to buy an e-book, more likely a Kindle. Firstly, I did some research on Amazon, on dif-ferent forums and I even asked everybody around me if they know more about Kindle. nally, I decided to go with the cheaper and more practical one. I didn’t need a tablet, I didn’t need to write on it, I just needed to read as many books as possible in a very easy way. I bought it from a very popular web-site, Okazii, on a rainy day. I also re-ceived a CD with a thousand books and a very nice black cover. Now, in a very light

format, I have books from Flaubert or Coelho, J.K.Rowling and even the Bible. Moreover, I can also download a lot of free books availa-ble on different websites, including Amazon. Now, I’ve become that person that can’t stop reading no matter what. There is no subway journey, no bus, staton or bor-ing class without a few pages read. It is really easy to read and it fits in every purse, be it little or big. You can sub-scribe with a few dollars to the daily news provided by the most important newspa-pers in the world, you can subscribe to magazine and bloggers and you can buy a book with half the price in bookstores. I named my Kindle Billy. I have lots of collections, I have a whole document with my favorite quotes (you can underline what you really enjoyed reading) and I can add notes. I don’t even worry about stopping it suddenly. It will always returns to the last read page.

POZA KIN-DLE

.

You know the famous quote: a book a day helps you keep up with the world. Or, if it isn’t so famous, it should be.
