ENTRY FEE: All Athletes …………………$175. USD USA Coach Credentials…..$70. USD (Includes Premium Seating)

USA ARCHERY MEMBERSHIP: All USA participants must be a current member of USA Archery. NFAA members may be allowed per USA Archery temporary membership policy. See USA Archery website for additional membership information and additional steps to qualify. Please check to see if your membership expires prior to the tournament and renew prior to the tournament. At tournament check-in, please have your current membership card available. (Or) NON-USA MEMBERSHIP: Must be a current member of another World Archery member association. Your World Archery member association must be in good financial standing with World Archery before you will be allowed to compete.

IMPORTANT DATES: The AAE Arizona Cup has sold out in previous years.

• Open Individuals: Individual registration will open on Monday, Jan. 3, 2017. All individual registration will be done online. Space is limited to the field capacity and will close when full, so register as soon as possible. There is no on-site registration. Payment must be received at time of registration to reserve a shooting position. If venue does reach capacity, a waiting list in order received will be maintained.

• Registration Deadline: Registrations will be taken until 12:00 midnight on Friday, March 24th. If the field reaches capacity before this date, a waiting list is maintained.

• Host Hotel: Negotiated group rate ends March 20, 2017 or earlier until room block sells out.

• Cancellations: Through March 17, 2017 will receive a full refund. A 15% fee will be withheld after March 17. Email notification of cancellation is acceptable. No refunds after March 31, 2017.

WAIVER: All archers and officials must sign a liability and photo waiver and agree to codes and pledges prior to participating in tournament activities. Archers under 18 years of age must also have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver.

USAT & Junior/Cadet/Master/Para USAT Qualifier: USA Archery has selected the 2017 AAE Arizona Cup as a USAT Qualifier.

World Team Trials-First Stage: USA Archery has selected the 2017 AAE Arizona Cup as the first stage of the World Archery Team Trials for Compound and Recurve

SCHEDULE: Schedule and format is subject to change due to weather delays, unforeseen conditions and final registration. The competition may extend up to sunset on Sunday April 19, 2017. If the tournament is stopped before completion, then the current archer standings at that time may be considered final.

2017 RECURVE Format: 1. Recurve Qualification Round: 70m Round (72 arrows) (all 6 arrow ends) 2. Recurve Cadet & Master Qualification Round: 60m Round (72 arrows) (all 6 arrow ends) 3. Juniors, Collegiate, and eligible Para will be combined with Adults for a combined

ranking for Recurve Elimination Rounds (70m). 4. Combined Rank Categories will be cut to a maximum 64 at the discretion of the

tournament 5. Recurve Cadets & Master will compete in the Cadet/Master Elimination Round and will

be cut to 64 or 32, if necessary. 6. The Recurve Elimination Rounds will be utilizing the Set System.

(Best of 5 Sets, 3 arrow sets at 70m (Cadets/Masters at 60m) on 122cm faces) 2017 COMPOUND FORMAT: 1. Compound Qualification Round (all categories): 50m Round (72 arrows) (all 6 arrow ends) 2. Juniors, Collegiate, and eligible Para will be combined with Adults for a combined

ranking for Elimination Rounds 3. Combined Rank Categories will be cut to a maximum of 64 at the discretion of the

tournament 4. Compound Cadets & Master will compete in the Cadet/Master Elimination Round and

will be cut to 64 or 32 if necessary 5. The Compound Elimination Rounds will be utilizing the cumulative scoring system. (15

arrow matches, 5 ends x 3 arrows at 50m on 80cm (5-10) ring individual faces) 2017 RULES: 1. World Archery rules. WA rules may be found at: http://worldarchery.org/Rules 2. All athletes, officials and coaches agree to abide by USA Archery Policies, Codes and

3. Individuals shall comply with USA Archery and World Archery dress code: STRICTLY ENFORCED for 2017 a. All archers, coaches and team officials are to dress professionally and are

strongly encouraged to provide last name and country, state or club name on the back of their shirt.

b. All athletes and coaches must present a professional, athletic appearance while on the field. (Torn, ripped or badly faded clothing articles are not allowed.) Clothing may be of any color.

c. No camouflage or denim (jeans) may be worn at target events. d. Shorts, skorts and skirts must not be shorter than finger-tip length while standing

normally. e. Men and women are required to wear upper garments covering the front and back

of the body and covering the midriff when at full draw. Women's upper garments shall have a minimum strap of 3" or sleeves. Men's upper garments shall have short or long sleeves.

f. Sport/athletic shoes are to be worn by all athletes and coaches during target events. Shoes must cover the entire foot.

g. At no time will any athlete or coach wear any article bearing any image or language to be considered offensive to others.

2017 COMBINED RANKINGS FOR AAE ARIZONA CUP: • Senior, Junior, Collegiate and eligible Para archers will be combined together for final

ranking for the individual elimination matches.

• Cadets & Masters, shooting as a cadet/Master, are eligible to shoot in the Cadet/Master only individual elimination matches.

• Please register for the correct category you are eligible and that you desire to compete in. Changing categories creates problems for the tournament and may create problems for the archer.

• Para Archers: a. Para-archer shall provide their own archers agents (to score and pull and

retrieve arrows as necessary). The tournament will not have the personnel available to provide this service

b. All para-archer shooting line spaces are 1 meter wide (in lieu of 1.25 meters).

c. Please inform the tournament at time of online registration payment if more than 1 meter is desired for the para archer participation. The tournament cannot guarantee additional space.

d. Qualification round is a two wave shooting sequence. AB-CD, CD-AB… i. Para-archers, at the time of registration, must inform the tournament if

they will be staying on the shooting line during qualification and eliminations.

e. Elimination round: The first round of eliminations will be shot with two matches per target in a two wave shooting sequence. AB-CD.

2. General: a. Participants are responsible for ground transportation. The tournament does

not provide ground transportation. b. Tournament hotel has limited wheel chair accessible rooms. Reserve as soon

as possible.

3. Para-archers who utilize WA compliant able bodied type compound or recurve bow and arrow equipment during qualification may compete in the 2016 AAE Arizona Cup combined ranked able-bodied elimination rounds.

OTHER INFORMATION: 1. Non-credentialed Persons: Must remain in the spectator area and may not enter

the archers’ area. Non or improperly credentialed persons found in the archers area maybe expelled from the tournament and tournament grounds.

2. ALL Credentialed Coaches: This requirement applies to all coaches at any level. Purchase and pay separately for the USA Archery’s coach credential directly from USA Archery, according to USA Archery policies and registration methods. Please visit USA Archery’s website for more information. https://webpoint.usarchery.org/wp15/Events2/ViewEvt.wp?EventID=5407 Seating is reserved for the archers. No more than one coach per archer may be at the waiting line during shooting.

3. Agents: Credentialed persons assisting Para archers or the tournament officials may sit in the archer's tents.

4. Photographers: Must be credentialed by USA Archery to be allowed at the waiting line/photo lane, in blinds or down range. Photographers may not coach from waiting line/photo lane, in blinds or down range. To request a photo credential, please email Sarah Bernstein at [email protected]

5. Awards Ceremony: Awards will be given for the following: Qualification Rounds, Elimination Rounds, . All are encouraged to attend the awards ceremony in the plaza area. The Awards Ceremony will take place as scheduled as soon as the results are verified. All medal winners are requested to be present at the finals venue gathering point of the Award Ceremony, 15 minutes before the ceremonies are due to start. The tournament requires that all participants, Officials and Sponsors follow the awards Ceremony protocols listed below. • No Flags or equipment are to be brought to the podium. • First Presentation - Medals and tournament prize money checks will be

presented to the media for photography. • Second Presentation - Sponsorship checks will then be presented by sponsor

representatives and presented to the media for photography. • Final Presentation - Sponsors, archers with equipment, flags, etc. are

welcome to take photographs after the archer has left the podium, or on the podium after the ceremonies are complete.

6. Shelter-Water: Shade canopies, seating and bottled water will be provided for the archers and credentialed officials. Priority to Archers!

7. Food for purchase: Food concession information will be on www.arizonacup.com. 8. Airport: PHX = Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport 9. Tournament Shirts and Hats: Our official Arizona Cup, Antigua brand shirts and

hats will be available for purchase online during the registration process. Sizes are available for men and women.

10. Spectators:

• Premium Seating will be available for on-line and at the event purchase. Cost is $50 USD per seat.

• Spectators may erect their own shade canopies and seating behind the designated premium seating line and must be securely staked down.

• There is no entry fee for spectators.

11. Tournament Awards:

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd place of Qualification: Senior, Junior, Collegiate,Para, Cadet & Master Categories (Only athletes registered as a Master, Junior, Collegiate, or as a Cadet are eligible for Junior, Collegiate, Para or Cadet awards)

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd place of AAE Arizona Cup Individual Finals: Recurve Men/Women, Compound Men/Women. Prize Money may be available, to be determined.

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd place of Cadet Individual Finals: Recurve Cadet Men/Women, Compound Cadet Men/Women

12. Drug Testing: Any archer may be subject to unannounced drug testing. Refusal to test may lead to disqualification. If you have questions, please request information from WADA. The tournament cannot give advice regarding drug testing.

13. Check-in and Waivers: All open individuals will be required to check-in at the tournament tent. All archers and credentialed coaches shall be required to have a waiver on file prior to competition. Archers under 18 years of age will be required to have a parent or guardian sign their waiver.

14. Equipment Check: All archers are asked to have their equipment checked by tournament officials prior to competition. Equipment Inspection will be done on Friday, April 7th, 2017. Random equipment checks may occur anytime during the competition.

15. Warm-up ends (Practice):

• Qualification: (3) warm-up ends are scheduled prior to qualification round scoring.

• Individual Match Play: (2) warm-up ends are scheduled prior to the beginning of the first match of a scoring session. If match play is interrupted, then (2) warm-up ends before the continuation of match play.

• Additional practice may be available at the East field.

16. Scopes: Scopes on the line shall comply with World Archery rules.

17. Transportation Services:

• All transportation is the responsibility of the participant. • Tournament accepts no liability for damage, theft or injury by vehicles/drivers

for any ground transportation related to the tournament.
