popaustin was a competition en-try that called for an inexpensive, transportable structure that would act as a small gallery, housing vi-sual, performing, and digital arts in Austin, TX.
These clean, simple steel struc-tures with glass skin and mobile fabric coverings allow for a range of art medium to be displayed in a beautiful fashion.popaustin

ribbon ribbon_greenville was an urban scale study which sought to con-nect the vibrant business and his-toric district of downtown Green-ville, SC with the more banal and separated arts district.
The proposal, inspired by an undu-lating ribbon generated a landscape density graph was to create a physical path that was occassion-ally interupted by small buildings for which the ribbon became the underlying structure.

Still working in the arts district of downtown Greenville, SC, projinter-sect is a multi-purpose performing arts theater and digital art studio.
Falling at the end of ribbon_green-ville, projintersect mirros the intersect of city districts through intersection of these program spaces. Cantilevers and an opening auditorium wall provide even great-er physical intersections.

interpretivece
The interpretive cen-ter is a study of mar-rying site to struc-ture. Various molding materials were used to create a site. Af-ter analyzation of the site’s control lines, textures, axes, and topography, a com-plementing table was designed, followed by a small gathering space.

The Coffee Bean Express was a study of brand architecture and the design of a small structure that would applicable nationwide.
Placed on a grass island in the middle of an expansive parking lot surrounded by big box retailers, a goal was to regain as much green space as possible. In return, a com-pact but carefully considered design is achieved.

rhizoflate
rhizoflate is a design-build project that began with the study of inflat-able architecture. As this project was done in Clemson’s Southeast territorial studio, the interstate system of SC, GA, and NC and the image of kudzu served as generative forms for settling on the concept of rhizomes - no clear beginning or end, and no hierarchy.
As a result, over 500 ft. of inflated plastic tubes meander through the trees in courtyard behind Lee Hall.
study model
workWhen not in the classroom or studio, I really enjoy woodworking. Shown are three of my personal projects:
• a cypress slab bench with walnut and white oak plugs. • a pair of Eastern white pine timber framed saw horses that without the use of nails or screws support over a ton• a cypress headboard with walnut accents and plugs
