Statement of Purpose

My objective for undergraduate studies in Information Technology (IT) is to

prepare myself for the long term goal of pursuing a career of an engineer in a

reputed company and to complete my masters for the same. I've nurtured a

strong passion to become an engineer & pursue good position in IT company. In

the pursuit of knowledge, I have always adopted a rigorous approach in order to

attain an in-depth understanding of the subject at hand. This has amply reflected

in my consistently brilliant career always topping the class and having received

numerous certificates at school level in curricular as well as academic activities.

Information technology enables almost every aspect of modern society, from

phones to MP3 players to dashboard navigation systems, from ATMs to robotic

assembly lines to satellite communication, from online booking systems to

banking to instant messaging.

The main problems that I faced in my 12th

Grade was that the studies where not

interactive enough, it was very monotonous, as in everyday I felt that I did the

same thing, then when the time came to choose where I would be doing my

bachelors from, I inquired a lot through my friends in USA, UK, Australia, Denmark

and India. All of them where telling me the same thing that western education is

more innovative and will help you think of your own feet, and Indian one is better

for immediate job application. Hence I decided to do my bachelors outside of

India because foreign degrees are much valued in India.

My academic background has always been a strong one, in 10th

grade I managed

to secure 85%, while in 12th I was able to score 71%, standing atop of the class. In

the IELTS exam I managed to secure 6.5 bands, which was way more than the

requirement put forth by QUT. The only reason why I have enrolled in the

diploma leading to the bachelors program is because QUT is very competitive and

I wanted to get in QUT only, even though other universities would have offered

me direct bachelors, despite being a pathway program, because of the fast track

mode I can finish it in 2.5 academic years only.

I've chosen to pursue graduate studies at Queensland University of Technology

(QUT) because by working under the guidance of distinguished faculties. I am

confident that I will make an original contribution in the field of IT. My interest in

the field has flourished during my higher secondary education when I got more

attracted towards this field .I've excelled well rooted and exciting Higher

Secondary Education(HSC) .Wherein I've developed a solid background to

continue my Bachelor in Information Technology . Even without my specialized

knowledge in IT at the moment, I am always striving to learn things on my own,

like Windows Office Suite. There is an innovative program CEED or Cooperative

Education placement, which provides 100 hours of Professional Practice in IT unit.

Also the CISCO certificates that I complete will be credited towards my Bachelors

program.

When comparing the different options that I had based on Overall education

quality, Quality of life, Value in India, Learning Curve in different countries I

decided Australia. It is world's 6th largest country by area. As far as studies are

concerned there are many universities and colleges in India but by studying in

Australia I can be assured that I will be getting an education that is ranked

amongst the highest in the world, also the Australian qualifications are widely

recognized and accepted throughout the world. Its not just that Australia is a

better choice for education but it also offers an attractive lifestyle that is safe,

stable and friendly. A multicultural society means international students quickly

feel at home.

I have decided to go in graduate studies which calls personal commitment to fulfill

the studies of Information systems and that involves willingly personal sacrifice of

time, leisure and immediate reward. In turn I shall get intellectual satisfaction and

gratification of becoming contributor to knowledge through different

achievements in this field, Along with greater personal rewards of learning and

discovery.

It is my dream to study in QUT, which is reputed university in Australia .As the

university strongly focus on technological research it is one of the another reason

why I choose this university to continue my undergraduate studies .QUT is a

member of Australian technology of Australian universities .Moreover faculties in

this universities are nice so it would be my great opportunity to study in this

university.

As my goal is to achieve something meaning full in the field of IT. QUT is one of

the Universities that can help me achieve my dream. Along with that as QUT is a

preferable university in my point of view and I can say that because I have

gathered information from online and offline sources about QUT,As it is located in

one of my favorite city, Brisbane. This city ranks highly in many international

comparisons of national performances such as quality of life , health ,education

,economic freedom & the protection of civil liberties as well as in political rights .I

don't want to lose chance to be an international student in such reputed

University of a developed country .

As I mentioned before my future plan is to work in a software company that

promotes innovative ideas like Wipro Technology, which was ranked most

innovative company in India in software Sector.

I am looking forward to be a good and well experienced graduate student from

QUT University.
