AAU Honors Distinguished Researchers among Faculty Members
Al Ain University of Science and Technology honored faculty members who have been distinguished in research during their course of work at the university; their effort in scientific research was also lauded. This came at the meeting organized by the
AAU administration with the faculty members in the presence of Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh. AAU Chancellor. and Pro£ Ghaleb El Refae. AA U President. Dr. Atatreh mentioned that the AAU's excellence in scientific research in recent years is in fact the outcome of continuous work in the development of this area. and we have been able to overcome obstacles and provide all forms of facilities. As a result, we now have colleges. such as Engineering and Pharmacy. which can produce world-class research. The College of Pharmacy has received support from the Emirates Foundation for Research in addition to other colleges such as Business Administration. Law, and Education that have numerous scholarly contributions whether through publishing in scientific journals. or organizing and hosting conferences. Further. AAU is committed to providing the necessary infrastructure for laboratories and libraries with a varied range of sources.
Four Prizes for AAU at DUPHAT 2013 The AAU College of Pharmacy won four prizes for the students' and faculty members' participations in the scientific competitions held as part of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition DUPHAT
2013. AAU came second in the Faculty Research category while for the Student Research category. AAU scored 7th. 8th. and 11th places. ltM!'•''"'I D
Cooperation Agreement between AAU and Northern Michigan University Al Ain University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with Northern Michigan University in the USA. The agreement aims at augmenting the exchange of research and knowledge leading to broadening
horizons and strengthening cultural cooperation. The agreement came during the visit of a delegation from Northern Michigan University to AAU. Al Ain Campus. The visiting delegation included Dr. David Haynes. NMU President; Dr. Paul Lang. NMU Vice President; and Dr. Jamal Rashed. Dean of the NMU College of Business. and they were received by Pro£ Ghaleb El Refae. AAU President. and Pro£ Abdelhafid Belarbi. AA U Vice President.

AAU Concludes First Cultural Excellence Competition
In a competitiveness-charged atmosphere. the AAU First Inter-School Cultural Excellence Competition concluded at Al Ain University of Science and Technology for the academic year 2012 - 2013 in which schools in the eastern region
of Abu Dhabi participated. The competition. the first of its kind in UAE universities. was organized to support distinguished high school students in the academic field. The competition took place at AAU - Al Ain Campus in Yas Auditorium and lasted for ten days. Eighteen schools took part in the competition as they were divided into groups where one team from each group qualifies to the quarter finals. then the semi-finals. and the finals. Accordingly. the top three teams were named. Al Khalil Private Secondary School came first winning twenty thousand dirhams. while Al Khaznah Secondary School came second and received fifteen thousand dirhams. and the third place and the award of ten thousand dirhams went to Al Rif ah Private Secondary School. liMJ111j.!ii D
AAU Celebrates Mothers Al Ain University of Science and Technology at both campuses in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi honored mothers working at AAU and their mothers in celebration of Mother's Day. The event was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs where
students presented cards and symbolic gifts to the mothers who. in turn. expressed their appreciation of the gesture that serves to strengthen human ties and underlines group participation in special events.

For a whole day. presentations and cultural activities took place showcasing the French culture. language. history. and the customs of the people of France. One of the main accompanying activities was also a presentation on the key higher education institutions and universities in France in addition to a brief on the educational system. admission requirements to the institutes. etc.

Intellectual Property Talk at AAU
As part of intellectual cooperation. and in light of renewed legal education and technology. the College of Law at AI Ain University of Science and Technology. in cooperation with the Copyright Department at the Ministry of Economy. organized a talk entitled "Legal Protection for Online Intellectual Property" presented by Mr. Fawzi AI Jaberi. Director of the Copyright Department at the Ministry of Economy. Dr. Husain AI Mougy. Dean of the College of Law and Dr. Bashar AI Momani. Head of the Private Law Department attended the talk in addition

Traffic Awareness Talk and Exhibition at AAU The AAU Deanship of Student Affairs at Abu Dhabi Campus. in cooperation with the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. hosted a one-day traffic awareness exhibition entitled "Safe driving will get you to your goa!" at the event
hall at the university. Pro£ Abdelhafid Belarbi. AAU Vice President. opened the exhibition accompanied by 1st Warrant Officer Salem AI Nahdi and Corporal Kholoud AI Habsi from the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. The exhibition is part of the awareness program presented by the Traffic Directorate and in implementation of AAU's role in spreading awareness as part of its social responsibility toward the community. The exhibition included signboards for regulations and prohibitions while driving. The audience and exhibition-goers also received awareness leaflets promoting traffic safety in vehicles and on the
