The Alberta Charolais Association eventof the year is upon us again. This truly is anevent that every breeder, not only inAlberta but across Canada should attend. Itis two days of action packed excitement,

enthusiasm and networking with Charolais breeders and commercial producers. Itstarts with the ACA AGM on Thursday afternoon, followed by supper and the SelectSingle Bull Show. All the cattle are housed in the great facility at the WesternerPark and there is lots of time to view the cattle and visit with breeders from acrossthe country. Friday morning is the Select Pen Bull Show with draws of $11,000 inBull Sale Credits and Pick of the Barn Winner. Last year there were many premierbreeders who found their next herd bull in the pen show. The finale of the two days is the Select sale with another quality offering from 15 of Alberta’s top breeders.

We are very excited to be helping with the sale again and although thenumbers aren’t big, the quality is extremely high. The breeders participating thisyear offered their very best knowing the caliber of cattle that will be here. As youwill see in the catalogue this sale has something for everyone, from an exclusivesemen offering from a proven herdsire to unique embryos and flushes that will putyou at the forefront of the industry. We have some picks and choices of bull andheifer calves and bred heifers that let you get into the keeper pen to find a greatone. There are some fancy show prospect heifer calves that would work in anyprogram, purebred or clubby. Bred heifers that took some convincing to get as thebreeders didn’t want to part with them knowing how good they would be. Somecow/calf pairs that show how well these cows can produce.

If you want to improve the quality of your herd or buy your first Charolais, thissale is the place to be. The quality is high, the networking will be great and youcan enjoy two days of great Charolais hospitality.

If we can be of any assistance or get you more information before the sale tohelp facilitate your purchasing, please don’t hesitate to contact us, any of the salestaff or consignors.

Bred April 10 to Sparrows Kingston 139Y. What a rush for us lastfall when we went back on the show road with our multipleclass winners. We were super excited when pick of the heifercalf crop at the Alberta Select ended up spinning four times toaverage almost $9000. We were equally as pleased when SoSpeaches 42B was still left in the pen. We have high hopes forthis female and feel she is flawless! She has length, depth, eyeappeal, great numbers and her pedigree reads like a whosewho of the Charolais breed. pCC, lT, SVY, HFCC and AlT are justsome of the tattoos in her pedigree. To top this sale feature offis the tattoo of SB. Yes, she is safe to Sparrows Kingston for aJanuary calf. put the right calf at side and we feel you couldhave a deadly show pair for next year and a great cow for yearsto come. 3RD Gen PlD14Whoop! Whoop! This Gridmakerdaughter is the real deal! Sweetfronted, totally trouble free feet witha super udder and tremendous milkflow. She is raising a power house of aheifer calf. We kept 45Z first calf 7B in our herdand she looks great. There is not a lotof things I would change in this greatyoung female and we are superpumped to take her to Farmfair withher calf at side. When you see herheifer calf just imagine what her

future holds. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she doesn’t raiseprogeny that will be front and center in anyone’s program. ultrasound safe to calve mid-January to a Time out Son 114A or 97Y.45Z ‘s sire Gridmaker was the Agribition RBC Supreme Champion Bull. We are retaining a flush in 45Z at the buyers convenience.

Double Whoop! Whoop!95C is truly that good. She deserves adouble whoop, whoop. When you stopand study 95C, there aren’t a lot ofthings I would change. Her dam, 45Zmilked like a trooper, her feet look totallytrouble free, she carries loads of muscle

expression and tremendous depth of body. We really believe shehas some real special future in store for her and could easily be inthe top of anyone’s herd. I really believe she is that good. TheStarstruck cow family has been absolutely amazing for DennisSerhienko and his family. 45Z ‘s granddam, 559R with her daughterwere the Agribition RBC Supreme Champion Female. 45Z’s sire wasthe Agribition RBC Supreme Champion Bull. Here is a heifer that the older she gets the more wewish we were keeping her! Calling Caroline offers anew spice into red factor genetics with an outcross pedigree. When we acquired WC Doubletree along with proChar from Wright Charolais,Caroline was exactly what we had in mind. She combines lots of body and softness into a fancy clean package. Following in her damsfootsteps she will carry a picture perfect udder. Caroline is a cool new twist on the red factor world!

PickofBredHeifers

Harvie Ranching is excited to be offering a pick of our 2015 bred heifers. What a fantastic opportunity it will be to be able to come to our ranchand choose from 26 top quality bred heifers that represent our top cow families. We have only sold a handful of Charolais females publically inthe last 15 years and those females have went on to be Donor cows and produce high selling bulls for Rust mountain, mcleod livestock andHigh Bluff Stock Farms. most of the heifers were bred to HARVIe WAlKS oN WATeR 164B, who is a son out of the great lT BAlleRINA 7143p and FIReWATeR. Theseheifers were exposed from April 13‐June 20 and are preg checked safe. As another mating option, we have 3 full sisters to HARVIe WAlKS oN WATeR 164B, who were AI’d to HARVIe STouT 124X. This should be anoutstanding combination as the last time we crossed HARVIe STouT 124X with a FIReWATeR, Harvie Ranching produced our high sellingherdbull HARVIe STouT 17B, who sold to letniaks for $20,000. We look forward to touring you through this powerful group of bred heifers. The quality runs deep so you may get different opinions on whatthe Harvie Ranching crew would pick, depending if Ian, Scott or Cole gives you the tour. pick to be made by January 1, 2016.

When we decided to hold this maternal machine open for a year and flush her, we had no intentions ofselling a flush. We’re crazy about this cow, but when you’re this excited about something, it’s hard not toshare it! Right from the get-go we knew that “Tiffany,” was special and she is consistently proving it.Aside from being easy on the eyes, she’s easy doing, gentle as can be, has awesome feet, is really soundand flat out produces! This young donor milks . . . not just in quantity, but in quality; she puts pounds onher calves! Her first calf, oNl Chara 4B was one of our high-sellers to Wilgenbusch Charolais. Chara had a205 day adj. weight of 940 lb. and was our heaviest sale bull. Her 2015 heifer calf, oNl Hot Dam 14C isfollowing in her momma’s foot-steps and will be retained in our herd, look for her in our fall show string. If offering a flush on Tiffany isn’t enough, we are offering the buyer the option of using our herdsire, JIlThunder Roll 69Z, for the flush. This opportunity is a game changer! For updated pictures and videos, follow us on Facebook at Daines Cattle & o’Neill livestock.*Guaranteeing a minimum of 6 eggs, no cap. She produced 9 eggs on her first flush and 13 on hersecond. **All flush work to be completed at Sundown livestock Transplants. 20 Alberta Charolais Select Sale

As this is our first consignment to the Alberta Select Sale, we couldn’t think of a better way than to come with two heifers off Cml eNCoRe 4Y.We were so very fortunate for the opportunity to purchase half the walking rights on such an awesome bull. He is one of the most decoratedbulls in recent history, winning almost every show he entered! Both of these heifers come from cows we purchased from XXX Farms. 49C’s mother, XXX 233Y was in our flush program last year and 48C`s mother, XXX 212Z will most definitely be on the list to flush as well. Thecow families behind both of these heifers, on the top and bottom of their pedigrees, show these girls will go home and be front pasturefemales for their new owners.
