FUNCTIONAL& ROBUSTThe encapsulated air end and theelectric motor are mounted upon arobust steel chassis.The components are assembledhorizontally which improves accessibilityconsiderably and therefore reducesmaintenance times. The efficient and reliable powertransmission is achieved via trapezoidalbelts. The pulleys used feature the taperlock bush arrangement, which are easilychanged and therefore the customersspecific pressure requirement can bematched with ease.

INTAKE AIRAll of the compressors in the SMARTrange are supplied as standard with acabinet pre-filter panel that is easilycleaned or replaced duringmaintenance.The incoming air is filtered by thismeans preventing the ingress of dirtonto internal components, reducingwear, improving reliability andpreventing the premature blocking ofthe coolers. In addition the use of ahigh efficiency intake filter provide veryclean air into the compressor elementincreasing the service life of the air endproviding optimum durability and lowerrunning costs.

QUALITY OFCOMPRESSED AIRThe air/oil cooler is of an advanced fintype aluminium design. The over sizeddimension of the air/oil cooler togetherwith the thermostatically controlledcooling fan provide very efficientcooling even during continuous use andin high ambient temperatures. The highefficiency of the combined cooler allowsoperating temperatures to be reducedtypically by 8C compared to othercompressors. The delivered air is passedthrough a cyclonic condensate separatorthat is fitted with a sensor controlledintelledrain auto drain.This device allows for the removalof much of the condensate with nounnecessary compressed air losses,therefore improving energy efficiency.

ABAC ROTARY SCREWCOMPRESSOR AIR ENDThe screw compressor air end of the VTSeries is designed and built exclusively at theABAC factory, which is certified to ISO 9001.Throughout the manufacturing process thehighest quality standards are strictly maintained.The factors that determine the very highreliability of the VT compressor air end are:The highly developed and patented VT rotor

profile with precision ground 5/6-lobeconfiguration provides higher compressedair output with lower power consumption.

Fitted with oversized high precision bearings.Compensation springsSpecial channels machined into the rotor

offering improved lubrication and longerservice life to the air end.

Toothed safety washer and special lockingnut for improved reliability.

CONTROLTRONIKCHECK CONTROLPANELThe microprocessor based controlsystem and display provides manyadvanced facilities. The dual digitaldisplay and convenient soft touchoperating buttons allow ease of use.Real time indications of all operatingvalues are illustrated by the dual digitaldisplay along with advise on servicerequirements, operating anomalies andother functions. Maximum protection isoffered by the automatic shut downfacility that operates in an emergencysituation. During operation the digitaldisplay indicates the following: workingpressure, oil temperature and status ofoperation i.e. load or off load.

ENCAPSULATED AIREND Selected air ends in the VT range havebeen designed so that they can beconfigured within an encapsulatedarrangement, enclosed by a separatorvessel which also accommodates thelubricant storage and the air/oilseparation system.Why an encapsulated air end?Due to the omission of the flexible tube

normally fitted from the air end to theseparator, increased output andimproved reliability is achieved.

ACCESSIBILITYAs well as achieving maximumreliability the SMART range has beendesigned with ease of access to allmaintenance components in mind.This enables servicing to be carried outmore efficiently with less down time.

OIL FILTRATIONProviding high quality compressed air inrespect of environmental objectives wasconsidered most important by ABACwhen developing the SMART series aircompressor. Thanks to the highly developedseparation process occurring within thevessel that forms the encapsulatedarrangement, along with the highefficiency air/oil separator cartridge,very clean compressed air is provided.Residual oil content within the deliveredcompressed air is less than 3mg percubic metre.

INSTALLATIONThe installation of the SMARTcompressor is a simple matter with norequirement for special foundations. Thecompressor is assembled onto a robuststeel base which also houses the antivibration suspension system.The handling and positioning of thecompressor is most convenient thank tothe special base arrangement, thisallows access by a standard pallet orfork truck from side, front and rear.Each compressor is supplied complete,including lubricant, thereforeconnections to a suitable power supplyand air system are all that is required toeffect an immediate installation.
