FY 2011 Residents’ and Businesses’ Tax Bill

• A typical Jupiter resident’s tax bill is made up of several items. The portion of a resident’s tax bill that goes to the Town is approximately 13%.

• The Town of Jupiter’s tax rate for Fiscal Year 2011 will be 2.5142, which is the same as the tax rate in 2010. However, due to declining property values, revenues from property taxes will fall by approximately $1.3 million in 2011.

Jupiter FY 2011 Budget• Total Budget is

higher due primarily to capital investments – such as Central/Indiantown Road Intersection.

• General Fund increased due to capital, pension and maintenance expenses.

• However, total Town tax collection will be reduced by $1.3m.

• Fund Balance and revenue from other agencies fill the revenue gap.
