DESCRIPTION

The ABCmouse.com team made our annual trip to the NAEYC conference in Washington, DC. We had two booths this year and the turnout was excellent. All of us really enjoyed connecting with so many early learning teachers. It was a great team effort that's showcased in this brief company PowerPoint. Thanks to Amanda for putting it together.

What is NAEYC?• The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference &

Expo is the largest early childhood education conference in the world, where tens of thousands of educators choose from hundreds of presentations and exhibits to visit.

• This year, ABCmouse.com had two booths at the conference; one for demonstrating the site, and a second booth to display our books, backpacks, CDs, puzzles, and other learning resources.

Logistics and Materials • We shipped over 1,000 books, 2,500 pounds of print material, and 15,000 branded tote bags—as

well as 5 pallets of booth hardware for assembly—which all had to be set up by hand before the convention could begin.

Setting Up

Teamwork• Being ready for such a busy convention booth requires a lot of prep work. The whole

ABCmouse.com team pitched in to create information packets and prep tote bags.

Opening Night • Opening night at NAEYC 2013 was the first chance for teachers to explore the Exhibit Hall. And it

was our first chance to meet the teachers who are regularly using – and succeeding with – ABCmouse.com in their classrooms. Our branded tote bags and engaging booth setup were a hit!

Day Two • The first full day at the convention was fantastic. The presentations by ABCmouse.com

curriculum advisor Dr. Rebecca Palacios provided teachers a valuable overview of how to best utilize ABCmouse.com in the classroom. Teachers told us they were impressed by the comprehensive curriculum and how easy it is to use the site. Over 2,600 teachers visited our booth on day two.

Day Three• Over the course of the first two days, over 450 educators attended the six presentations by Dr.

Rebecca Palacios at our booth and we had given out over 8,000 of our ABCmouse.com tote bags. It was inspiring to see how much interest our booth generated from educators.

Final Day • The Exhibit Hall was only open briefly in the morning. This was our final opportunity to meet more

teachers who were already using ABCmouse.com and hear their success stories. And we had one more chance to introduce the site to educators who were looking for a comprehensive resource to use in their classrooms.

Giveaways• Our Prize Wheel and ABCmouse.com tote bags were a huge hit. By the time the show was over

we had handed out over 9,000 bags.

After the Show• After the Exhibit Hall closed, we started the less exciting process of disassembling the booths

and loading everything up to ship back to the office. What took two and a half days to set up disappeared in a little over 7 hours. Everyone agreed the show was a great success – and that we’d be back, even bigger and better, next year. See you then.
