The Chain of Custody follows thepath taken by raw materials fromthe forest to the consumer. Thisincludes each stage fromprocurement, processing andmanufacturing through todistribution and sales of certified

goods where each stage of thesupply chain involves a change ofownership.

Abet Laminati has been awardedboth FSC® and the Programmefor the Endorsement of ForestCertification schemes (PEFC).PEFC is an international non-profit, non-governmental organ-isation dedicated to promotingSustainable Forest Management(SFM) through third-partycertification.

The new 2OI5›2OI8 Abet Laminati Collectionhas been launched globally and is nowavailable in the UK and Ireland from Abet Ltd.

As part of its continued research anddevelopment, factoring in specific marketdemands, Abet has introduced some excitingnew ranges whilst streamlining some existingones. This gives architects and specifiers aninteresting new selection of hues, finishes andtextures.

The Collection comprises 32 complete rangesfrom plain colours to woodgrain reproduc-tions and real wood finishes through topatterns, images and 3D effects. Three brandnew textured finishes have been introduced –Papier, Cross and Root.

Papier is inspired by the remarkable tactileproperties of paper. Distinguished yetdiscreet, it makes surfaces stylish and addsthe extra value of versatility. Cross is a specialhorizontal finish that is sinuous, structuredand opaque, for a deep visual effect thathighlights any shade. Root expresses itselfwith signs that are reminiscent of woodenessences, instantly transmitting warmth andenergy through sight and touch.

Barbara Campbell, Abet’s UK &Ireland Sales Manager, recentlycompleted the 38km CycloSportive in aid of the Heart ofKent Hospice in Aylesford.

The hospice is an independentcharity providing specialist end oflife care for people who are facingthe challenge of a life-limitingillness, and support for theirfamilies.

Due to the popularity of our dedicated UK & Ireland Collections, we arerolling out further updates over the coming months.

The Doors Collection was the first to be updated. The range has beensimplified and now comprises a wide selection of plain colours andcomplementary woodgrain decors in a standardised sheet size (now2250 x 1000mm) and supplied with a protective coating as standard.

The Cubicles Collection is also being updated to reflect latest trends andmarket needs. This will incorporate some exciting new woodgrains andplain colours including some from the new 2015>2018 Collection.

We will also be offering a new MEG Collection bringing an array ofcolourful additions to the exterior cladding market.

A SLICK SOLUTION FOR OIL MANUFACTURER

Labgrade, the decorative high pressurelaminate with a solid core, manufactured byAbet Laminati, has been installed in therefurbished Millers Oils laboratories atBrighouse, West Yorkshire.

Supplied by Arnold Laver Bradford andinstalled by Cleckheaton Construction, theLabgrade, specially designed for use insterile and hygienic environments, forms ahard-wearing, durable and attractiveworktop. With a 16mm solid black core,coupled with a specially formulated chemicalresistant decorative surface, it is designed toresist damage caused by most laboratorychemicals. The easy to clean surfacecomplements the core which provides asmooth decorative edge to resist the ingressof dirt and bacteria.

The laminate’s non-porous fabrication andedging make it ideal for use in areas of highmoisture and humidity as its solid coreconstruction means there is no risk ofpeeling, cracking or delamination. It is alsowell suited for heavy duty working areas,such as in schools, hospitals and industriallaboratories or in any application wherechemical, impact and scratch resistantperformance is required.

CUBICLES FIND A GOOD HOME

Products in practice

High Pressure Laminate from Abet Laminati has been used to clad the cubicles of the newheadquarters of East End Homes in central London.

Fabricated by specialist washroom and cubicle manufacturer Decra Ltd, the 616 Walnut Sabecfinish has created a warm, executive and luxurious feel to the washrooms.

Manufactured in 0.9mm thickness and in large 3050mm x 1300mm sheets sizes, the LegniNews range of woodgrain effects is a popular choice for surfacing. With around 100 differentwood species patterns available in the Legni and Legni News collections, designers have animpressive range to choose from including complementing shades and tones which facilitatesubtle contrasts and design.

As with all the finishes from Abet Laminati, the range meets or exceeds all European and Britishperformance standards for resistance to wear, heat, moisture, impact and scratching. Thelaminates are widely used in situations where high quality performance and design are carefullycrafted together to create an attractive visual experience.
