1. About your background, including how it impacted choice of your presentcourse of study. Also elucidate the main goals and objectives of this choice

and your professional plans of completions of your course

Having spent a better part of my formative years in Kolkata, it was quite a transition

when my family moved to the picturesque hill town of Nainital. The fast life of a

metropolitan city gave way to a tranquil environment which was initially fresh and

liberating but I could sense an apparent divergence in the dreams and aspirations of

both cultures. Exposure to these contrasting environments fuelled a strong desire

within me to dream big and strive constantly for innovation. It gave me immense

satisfaction to be the first to represent my school on an international platform at the

prestigious Bournvita Quiz Contesttwice. With an aim to propound a learning and

evolving culture at school, I co-founded the Quizzing Club and the Book Club. For my

sustained efforts, I was also awarded the Student of the Year trophy.

For my further course of study, I chose Mechanical Engineering atIIT Bombay, driven

by my growing passion for Physics and Automobiles. The dream of designing an actual

racing car came true when I, as part of the IIT-B Racingteam, developed a vehicle for

an FSAE competition held at Silverstone, UK. IIT-B also provided me with a plethora of

other opportunities for holistic growth, including managing infrastructure for Mood

Indigo, Asias Largest Cultural Festival and creating campus awareness as a Student

Journalist for Insight IIT-B Student Newsletter. Furthermore, my Internships at Tata

Motors and Bombardier gave me an exposure to various vital integrated functions of a

business. Interacting with senior managers and executives, observing their roles and

responsibilities and sharing ideas with them propelled me to explore commercial

studies by taking elective courses and projects in Managerial Economics and Operations

Management at SJMSOM, IIT-B. These experiences made me realize that being a part of a

firms long term vision and making decisions which have long lasting and direct impact

is what I truly aspire for.

The PGP program at IIM Lucknow will help me gain knowledge about various business

functions and improve upon my skills to achieve the goal of building strategies and

addressing key issues for organizations. Through a career in the field of Management

Consulting, I believe I will have the opportunity to apply my analytical as well as

acquired people skills to diverse domains in a challenging yet exciting capacity. I hope to

stay focussed and utilize IIM-Ls vastresources to build strong fundamentals in various

business verticals and sectors to become a valuable asset for my future organization.
