Two Keys For Understanding John 15:1-11

1. A Keyword: “Abide”– “To accept and act in accordance with”– For example: We can “abide by” our boss’s

decision. We can “abide by” a judge’s ruling. We can “abide by” a parent’s curfew.

2. A Dynamic Setting: The last hours before Jesus’ betrayal & crucifixion.– Jesus spoke in figurative language to prepare

them, without overwhelming them.
