Abirami Ramanathan (born 26 August 1947), B.E. Mechanical - A.M.I.E., M.H.M.S.(Master of Homeopathy Medical Science).Managing Director of Abirami Mega Mall - First Mall – Family Entertainment Center (FEC) of its kind in India to international standards consisting of 3 floors of Shopping, 18 Counter Food Court, Gaming Area, Entertainment, 4 Cinema Theatres which have created a world record with 221 films each having a run of 100 days, 35 films each a silver jubilee and won the best theatre award many times and for the first time in the world a Roof-Top Drive-in Restaurant yet to be opened.

Career

Textile and manufacturing

Textile Industry – Was the works Manager and then Executive Director of Abirami Cotton Mills P. Ltd., Sullurpetta, Nellore Dist. ., Andhra Pradesh, till 1993 – A 25,000 spindle textile spinning mills where many innovations and expansions happened under his leadership. This unit was established by his father Sri.V.S.Sivalingam Chettiar in 1964.

Plantations – Was Partner, and then Managing Partner of VR.KR.S. Firm, No. 5, Jalan Patani, Kualakangsar, Perak State, Malaysia till 1993. This plantation was established in 1894 by Grand Father Sri. Chettiappa Chettiar and had an extent of about 500 acres of rubber plantation and around 200 small houses rented out.

Created Abirami Kids World with all games and entertainment for children at Abirami Mega Mall. Introduced for the first time in Tamil Nadu Novel amusement area of “KISSING CARS” at Abirami Mega Mall Created the first 5 star theatre of India – Swarna Sakthi Abirami and Shree Annai Abirami – with chairs which recline 100% with a butler on wait. The lobby and the toilets are also air conditioned. For the first time photo cards and displays are through digital screens. The ambience is of a 2000 year palace of Egypt and China respectively. The movie is downloaded via Satellite.

Production

Produced a film for the Police of Chennai commemorating their 150th Year where All Police officials played their real role and the present Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Gave the introductory speech. Producer of the Film “Panchamirutham” a children’s comedy film.Financially supported many commercial films to name a few BLOOD STONE starring Rajanikanth an English film co produced with an American company and ADIMAI CHANGILI Starring Arjun others. Distribution:-Distributed 45 Films so far of which the last film was the blockbuster SIVAJI starring Rajanikanth, Ayan starring Surya, Kanthaswamy starring Vikram, Unnaipol Oruvan starring Kamal Haasan and others.

Producer of many TV serials. Some of them are

“ABIRAMI” a Mega serial starring Gautami, Kalpana and others in Kalaignar TV. “Mayavi Marichan” in SUN TV prime time for 50 weeks “Master Mayavi” in SUN TV prime time for 42 weeks “Devadai” in RAJ TV for 66 episodes in prime time “Deiva Darisanam” in Doordarshan Podhigai Channel prime time for 52 weeks “Namma Ooru “ in Doordarshan Podhigai Channel prime time for 20 Weeks, “Sutrula Vaanga” now enjoying the sixth position in Top 10 for serials in Podhigai.

Was playing Time LESSEE of Ega Theatre, Anu Ega Theatre (from 1991 to 2005), Grand theatre, Casino theatre, Vasanthi theatre and Vani theatre all in Chennai City (not now).

Daughter Meenakshi B.A.a National shooter married to an industrialist manufacturing food pulp and kraft paper in a large scale. Blessed with two little cute grand children.
