Ana Bacchus, CPA Controller, PGDx WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WORK AT PGDx? “PGDx gave meaning to my practical career choice. I am extremely fortunate to be able to support an organization and group of individuals with a mission whose ultimate goal is to help millions of people get through the hardest part of their or their loved one’s lives. My personal dream is to leverage the lessons we’ve learned as an organization to improve healthcare access in Honduras (a country with 66% of its population in poverty) where access to proper healthcare is directly impacted by a person’s socioeconomic status and proximity to urban cities.” PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY: I follow the 4 rules of improv: 1. Say “Yes” - Don’t let challenges or imperfect situations get in the way of succeeding or helping others succeed. 2. Say “Yes AND” - Work together to get closer to success, it’s not a matter of whose “job” it is or who is to blame. Pitch in and get it done! And yes, sometimes it means you’re in early and you still leave late. 3. Make Statements - Excuse me as I quote an obscure literary novel that best outlines these rules, an American classic known as Bossypants by Tina Fey. “In other words: Whatever the problem, be part of the solution. Don’t just sit around raising questions and pointing out obstacles. We’ve all worked with that person.” Don’t be that person! 4. There are no mistakes… only opportunities. Learn from it. Be better. I’ll be honest, I definitely get frustrated more often than I care to admit. But, you have to keep going. Eventually you’ll get to the end… of the work week. “My personal dream is to leverage the lessons we’ve learned as an organization to improve healthcare access in Honduras (a country with 66% of its population in poverty) where access to proper healthcare is directly impacted by a person’s socioeconomic status and proximity to urban cities.” - ANA ABOUT ANA: Ana Bacchus, CPA began her career with Personal Genome Diagnostics (PGDx) as an Assistant Controller in May 2015 as the only full-time Accounting/Finance/HR personnel. WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WORK AT PGDx?

“PGDx gave meaning to my practical career choice. I am extremely fortunate to be able to support an organization and group of individuals with a mission whose ultimate goal is to help millions of people get through the hardest part of their or their loved one’s lives. My personal dream is to leverage the lessons we’ve learned as an organization to improve healthcare access in Honduras (a country with 66% of its population in poverty) where access to proper healthcare is directly impacted by a person’s socioeconomic status and proximity to urban cities.”

PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY:

I follow the 4 rules of improv: 1. Say “Yes” - Don’t let challenges or imperfect situations get in the way of succeeding or

helping others succeed. 2. Say “Yes AND” - Work together to get closer to success, it’s not a matter of whose “job” it

is or who is to blame.

“My personal dream is to leverage the lessons we’ve learned as an organization to improve healthcare access in Honduras

(a country with 66% of its population in poverty) where access to proper healthcare is directly impacted by a person’s socioeconomic status and proximity to urban cities.”
