ABOUT DAVID MARTIN

David Martin is chef and owner of the Michelin 2 stars restaurant “La Paix”(*) in Brussels with his wife Nathalie. As this French chef is clearly not the type to stay in place, in recent years David Martin has added four other projects to this impressive list: a croquettes stand at the Heysel “Classic Croquettes by David Martin” and two establishments “Les Atel-iers de La Mer”, in Bastogne a fishmonger / caterer and in Neufchâteau a restaurant / fishmonger / caterer which he set up in collaboration with the entrepreneurs Igor & Karine Jovanovic.

“Le Lieu” is the latest creation of David Martin in collaboration with Goedele Van Renterghem and Serge Luypaert. A unique concept in a renovated farm-house located in Baisy-Thy. A coffee roasting workshop, an art gallery and a restaurant are housed here under one roof. Thomas Henaut, who has been David Martin’s right hand at La Paix for five years, is behind the stove. In the dining room, Serge Luypaert and his wife Goedele Van Renterghem guaran-tee the service, providing expert advice on beer and wine, but especially on coffee.

David Martin is also known for his program “Martin Bonheur”, broadcasted on RTL-TVI and produced by Celsius Prod, in which he has been preparing a sim-ple dish in three minutes for 7 years on a daily basis. Internationally he is also very active with his upscale caterer / catering gamma “La Paix on the Road”.

He is elected Chef of the year 2019 by Gault&Millau.

His style is a summary of the Belgian microcosm: warm and undeniably bold, generous and refined, subtle and powerful, deeply rooted in the local and open to the world.

The Black Pearls restaurant project has instinctively seduced this gour-met Chef who’s always looking for new innovative projects and the idea of offering a gastronomic menu inside the famous Brussels Airport naturally delighted this globe trotter.

This collaboration between Autogrill, the world’s number one restaurant and traveler’s service, and the Michelin-starred chef promises the start of your journey at the table!
