Ms. O’Dell is the new music teacher at Quil-cene. She joined the Quilcene staff this year when the previous music teacher, Mr.

About: Ms. O’DellBy Edward Benson

She went to college at Washington State University and her favorite instrument is the clarinet because that is the instrument that she plays. Lastly, she has substituted at many other schools, but this is her first standard teaching job.

Do you like the Twilight movies? If so, you’re crazy. The Twilight movies s-u-c-k in not only my opin-ion, but other students as well.

“[The Twilight Movies] mess up the whole basis of vam-pires. Sparkling?! Where would she, [Stephanie Meyer], even come up with that? They aren’t even scary!” says an unimpressed Brandon Collins about the movies. Kaykay (Kay Budsarin Ngamdee) has seen the latest one, Part 1 of the 4th book Breaking Dawn, and all she has to say is that it is okay. Not really good, but not terrible either. Alexis Cawyer has read all the books and seen every Twilight movie that has been produced so far. She has very vehemently stated that she HATES how the mov-ies have turned out. Each movie has had a new director because the movies are getting such bad reviews. “I feel sorry for Stephanie Meyer because her movies are so bad and [her books] were ruined by the directors then fans of the movies will never be fans of the books.” “It sucks! I hate it. I’ve read all the books and I don’t understand how all girls go crazy over the movies.” Sam Sumpter answers. While lots of people agree that the movies are ab-solutely HORRIBLE, sadly, there are people who actually LIKED the movies.

People today have no respect for the old school games. In this time and place the only thing people think about are newer systems like the

Xbox 360 or PS3. Because of that I’m going on a trip back in time to revisit some of gaming’s greatest moments in history…and largest failures. The first of these successes is the NES, Nin-tendo’s first console system that skyrocketed gam-ing into the international spotlight. One of the NES best sellers was Super Mario Bros, a gaming icon known widely around the world today. The charac-ters, Mario and Luigi, must travel to Bowser’s castle to defeat the Koopa King and save Princess Peach. If you haven’t played this game yet then someone should hit you in the head with a hammer. The second game I’m going to talk about is Final Fantasy. The first of the series, the original Final Fantasy introduced the heroes of light. They were off to defeat the evil knight Garland. Final Fantasy introduced elements to the gaming world that revolutionized RPG games today. However in present time they have kind of run the series into the ground with 14 installments not including the dozens of side games made for the series. The final game I’m going to talk about is the Legend of Zelda. This was the game that started a franchise. The Legend of Zelda series has dozens of games across multiple platforms, all starting from the Nintendo. The game begins when Link sets out to save Princess Zelda from the evil villain, Ganon. Link collects a variety of items to help him in his quest. Eventually he gains the Master Sword, the ultimate weapon of light. This weapon allows you to defeat Ganon at the end of the game. The Nintendo was the system that gave home gaming consoles the push into the spotlight that it needed. One has to wonder what would have happened if it was not created. Gaming could be completely different today. That’s all for this month, look for my next article on the Sega Master System.

I want to find what it is,That I haven’t yet lived,I want to breathe in this life,The one for which I strive,Not the one in which I’m living,But the one that has me thinking,Maybe one day I’ll be someone,Maybe I’ll get up and take action,Grab my life by the reins,Before I’ve ruined my own parade,With my motionless conquest,To try and be nothing less,Than the few things I may get,If only I could choose,When I win, and when I lose.

Tuesdays,Wash away the fury,At Mondays,When everything’s so blurry,Wednesdays,Sit there in the middle,Watching Thursday,Who feel small, so little,Then Friday,Strolls up to steal the scene,Saturday,You stay awake with caffeine,Until Sunday,When the slate is wiped clean.

Another day down,This hole that I found myself,Stumbling into.

Where did you run to,When all I needed was you,Unbelievable.

Silence everywhere,Then quietly whispered prayers,Fill the open air.

Simple people crowd,To see what is this new thing;Electricity.

As one of the original members of the Justice Society of America, Batman has a place of honor and worship in almost everybody

hearts; but not mine. In my mind, this “super”-hero seems a little shifty. I mean that he’s shifty in the sense that he goes around and adopts young boys, puts them in costumes, has them defusing bombs and fighting a plethora of ridiculous villains (if you can call them that). The Dark Knight burst onto the scene in Detective Comics #27 in May of 1939. The first Batman adventure was named “The Case of the Chemical Syndicate”. This first adventure brought to life a dark fear in all criminals that a man wear-ing tights, a cape, and their underwear on the outside. Batman was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, although Kane is the one that gets the most. With this veritable avatar of fear, I have on only two problems. My first question is this: If Bruce Wayne has enough money to make a cave under his house, own a mansion, and buy prod-ucts from his own company, why can’t he improve the most easily broken out of prison in the world: Arkham Asylum. I mean, if he has enough money to run his own multi-million dollar corporation why doesn’t he make it so that almost every single bad guy can escape from Arkham Asylum. I don’t think that Batman is an entirely bad good guy. I just think that the way he handles certain things kind of sucks. What kind of person adopts a kid, teaches him to fight, wears a ridicu-lous outfit, has a clown for an arch-nemesis, and fights villains with minimal difficulty? I know that Batman watched his parents get shot to death after a night at the theatre, but guns would make his job a lot easier. I’m not saying that he should kill the bad guys; just disable them. I firmly believe that if Batman went against a super-villain like Darkseid, he would probably die within the first three minutes of the fight. Batman is only unique because he has no superpowers what so ever. The only things that Batman has that he uses to battle bad guys is his utility belt, his fists (A.K.A “The Hammers of Justice”), intelligence, his money (that’s right, Batman buys his villains), inventiveness, detective skills, martial arts (he trained with Ra’s Al Ghul and the League of Shadows), and fear (during the Blackest Night storyline in 2009 he was given a Sinestro Corps power ring). I figured that some people would disagree with me greatly and I’m not naming any names (Mr. Thompson). I asked a few people what they thought of the Dark Knight. Most of them were deluded enough to think that he is one of the greatest superheroes in comic book history. I won’t say who gave me their opin-ion for the sake of discretion.

Ubisoft Released Assassins Creed Revelations as the 4th game in the epic series on November

15th earlier this year. The Assassins Creed series has 3 main playable characters, Ezio Auditore da Firen-ze, Altaïr ibn La-Ahad and Desmond Miles. Revelations is the final Assassins Creed game with Ezio. Like the last two games, this game will take place in the Renaissance. Assassins Creed Revelations takes place where Brotherhood left off. Desmond Miles’ mind is in a breakdown state and to save his mind the As-sassins put him in a safe area of the animus called the “Black Room”. While in the animus Desmond relives Ezio’s experiences to find the true meaning of the assas-sins order which Altaïr has previously discovered. These memories lead Ezio to Constantinople in search of the keys to Altaïr’s library. There are several new features in this game. Including the tower defense side game, in which you capture a city, and when the Templar’s eventu-ally take it back you use tower defense mechanics to re-capture the city. Another feature newly added to the game is the hookblade. The hookblade is used to grapple and throw enemies as well as zip lining down an-gled robes and poles. In previous games, as you may know, there were smoke bombs. Well, in Revela-tions on top of just normal smoke bombs, there is a total of 300 different bomb variations. In Assassins Creed Revelations they brought the multiplayer from Brotherhood. Added to the multiplayer is the ability to customize the appear-ance of the characters and the weapons they use. Ubisoft added two new game modes. Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch.

Assassins Creed RevelationsCTF is as simple as two teams trying to get the op-posite teams flag and escape un-harmed. In Team Deathmatch you must take the other team out be-fore they take you out. Overall, Assassins Creed Revelations was worth the money and we give it a 9 out of 10. The fixed ‘matchmaking’ in the game allows it to run faster and smoother enabling you to have multiple hours of fun and minimal frustration.

“I liked the 3rd movie because Jacob was hotter than usual.” A direct quote from Sara Gaby. ”I liked the movies, but I would have liked them more if I hadn’t read the books.” Says Rachel Hanna. When asked what she thought about the movies, Lorisa Tudor said, “I liked them, I wasn’t obsessed with them, but I liked them a lot. Part 1 of Breaking Dawn was my favorite so far.” But when we asked her what she thought about the movies compared to the books she said “I liked the books a whole lot more because the movies left out a lot of detail. They were still good movies though because you get to see what is going on not just trying to imagine it. But all in all, the books were still better!“ People who have read the books and like the mov-ies still have some reserves over how much detail and key parts were left out.I believe that many more people hated the movies be-cause they were so completely ruined. Key parts were left out, and scenes were added that weren’t in the book. The directors could have done so much better.
