Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel

Region, a 501c3 charitable organization,

is changing lives right here in our

community. BBBBSLR creates and

supports one-to-one mentoring

relationships that ignite the power and

promise of youth. A “Big” (an adult

volunteer) is paired with a “Little” (a

child in need of services). The “Big” then

serves as a positive role model, offering

friendship, support, and guidance, as

well as exposure to new opportunities

to help strengthen and broaden the

horizons of the “Little”. Through these

mentoring relationships, children gain

self-confidence, improve their grades,

and avoid risky behaviors making a

strong, child, a strong adult, and a strong

community.
