Observe all required provisions and instructions:

Read this publication carefully. Adhere to all instructions, information and safety information to prevent injury to persons and damage to property. WABCO will only guarantee the safety, reliability and performance of their products and systems if all the information in this publication is adhered to.

Always abide by the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and instructions.

Observe all accident regulations of the respective company as well as regional and national regulations.

Make provisions for a safe work environment:

Only trained and qualified technicians may carry out work on the vehicle.

Use personal protective equipment if required (protective goggles, respiratory protection, ear protectors, etc.).

Pedal actuations can lead to severe injuries if persons are in the vicinity of the vehicle. Make sure that pedals cannot be actuated as follows:

Switch the transmission to "neutral" and actuate the hand brake.

Secure the vehicle against rolling by using chocks.

Fasten a visible note to the steering wheel indicating that work is being performed on the vehicle and that the pedals are not to be actuated.

Do not use the ABS/EBS Code Reader in the vicinity of:

heat sources

magnetic fields

exhaust gases

sources of electricity.

Do not expose the ABS/EBS Code Reader to impact, shock or moisture (water or other liquids).

Introduction Installation

EN3 Introduction

The ABS/ EBS Code Reader B-DH A101 is an easily operated device for the diagnosis of WABCO braking systems in trailers, trucks and buses. The sections below describe and explain operation and functions of the device.

Operation

The ABS/ EBS Code Reader B-DH A101 consists of a compact housing and is easily operated with one hand. A two-line digital display is located in the top section with buttons for operating the device in the bottom section.

KEY MEANING EXPLANATION

EXIT Exit Exit menu or functionUP Up To access a menu item further up

DOWN Down To access a menu item further down

OK OK Confirm command or access a submenu

The menu structure is a circumferential menu. When the last menu item is reached by scrolling down or up, the display jumps back to the first/last menu item.

At the top side there is a connecting cable with a 9-pin D-Sub connector. This connector is compatible with all diagnostic cables from WABCO currently on the market and enables an easy connection to the vehicles.

The ABS/EBS Code Reader does not require its own power supply. The power is supplied by the vehicle to which it is connected.

Installation

EN4 Installation

Before you can start the device up you need to connect it to the vehicle. Numerous diagnostic cables from WABCO are available for this purpose; see Chapter "Document Number", page 7 (815 XX0 037 3). Different ports can be used to connect the device to the vehicle. Please use the manufacturer specifications for guidance or find out more at http://inform.wabco-auto.com

Set the language

The device is supplied with English as the default language. Please carry out the following steps to change the language:

Use the "DOWN" button to scroll down once to the "Settings" menu item

Confirm by pressing the "OK" button

This will open the "Language" menu item.

Confirm by pressing the "OK" button once

You can now use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to choose between the different languages.

Confirm the desired language by pressing the "OK button.

From now on the device is set to the language of your choice.

Setting the background lighting

The background lighting can also be changed under the "Settings" menu item.

Select the "Background lighting" menu item with the "OK" button.

Use the "UP" and "DOWN" buttons to adjust the brightness of the display.

Save your settings by pressing the "OK" button and exit the menu.

! If you only press the "Exit" button, you will exit the menu without saving the settings.

Functions Supported WABCO ECUs

EN5 FunctionsSpecifying the installed braking system

Once the device is connected it can search for the brake control unit in the vehicle. If a WABCO control unit is found, it is displayed with name and device generation (e.g.: T EBS-E)

Reading out the fault memory:

If the device detected a WABCO braking system in the vehicle, the device can read out the memory from the ECU. System message are displayed in the following format:

Example: Fault code 3/01 (0) means that the air gap between the sensor and the pole wheel on wheel speed sensor C is too large. A 1 or a 0 in brackets is displayed behind each fault code. The 1 indicates that an active fault is present in the system, the 0 indicates that an inactive fault is stored.

Under item 7 of this manual you will find tables with the corresponding explanations for each fault code. In addition, you will find a QR code at the back of your device. This code will lead you to a website that also lists the meanings of the fault messages with further information.

Clearing the fault memory:

The ABS/ EBS Code Reader can be used to delete fault memory entries relating to the braking system, provided these are inactive faults. Active faults can only be deleted once the cause has been eliminated.

Reading out the ECU product number:

The ABS/ EBS Code Reader can be used to read out the WABCO product number of the brake control unit. With this product number you can search for further information specifically related to the respective braking system in our product platform INFORM http://inform.wabco-auto.com.

Reading out the diagnostic identifier

The ABS/ EBS Code Reader can be used to read out the diagnostic identifier. This can help your WABCO partner in providing more precise assistance.

Nastavenjazyka

Pstroj je standardn expedovn s texty v anglickm jazyku. Chcete-li zmnit jazyk, provete nsledujc kroky:

Pomoc tlatka "DOWN" (DOL) se posute o jedno msto dol tak, abyste se dostali na poloku "Settings" (Nastaven).

Potvrte tlatkem "OK"

Tm se dostanete na poloku "Language" (Jazyk).

Potvrte jednou tlatkem "OK"

Pouitm tlatek "UP" (NAHORU) a "DOWN" (DOL) mete nyn volit mezi rznmi jazyky.

3 EinleitungDer ABS/ EBS Code Reader B-DH A101 ist ein einfach zu bedienendes Gert, fr die Diagnose von WABCO Bremssystemen in Trailern, Trucks und Bussen. In den folgenden Abschnitten werden die Bedienung und die Funktionen des Gertes beschrieben und erlutert.

Bedienung

Der ABS/ EBS Code Reader B-DH A101 besteht aus einem handlichen Gehuse und lsst sich mit einer Hand bedienen. Im oberen Teil befindet sich ein zweizeiliges Digitaldisplay und auf der unteren Hlfte befinden sich Tasten zur Bedienung des Gertes.

Bei der Menstruktur handelt es sich um ein umlaufendes Men. Wird der letzte Menpunkt durch runter- oder hochscrollen erreicht, springt die Anzeige auf den ersten/ letzten Menpunkt zurck.

An der Oberseite befindet sich ein Anschlusskabel mit einem 9-poligen D-Sub Stecker. Dieser ist kompatibel zu allen auf dem Markt befindlichen Diagnosekabeln von WABCO und ermglicht eine einfache Verbindung zu den Fahrzeugen.

Der ABS/EBS Code Reader bentigt keine eigene Stromversorgung. Bei Verbindung mit einem Fahrzeug erfolgt die Stromversorgung automatisch von dort.

4 InstallationBevor Sie das Gert in Betrieb nehmen knnen, mssen Sie es mit einem Fahrzeug verbinden. Hierzu stehen zahlreiche Diagnosekabel von WABCO zur Verfgung; siehe Kapitel Druckschriftennummer, Seite 51 (815 XX0 037 3). Der Anschluss am Fahrzeug kann ber verschiedene Schnittstellen erfolgen. Standardmig wird das Gert in englischer Sprache ausgeliefert. Um die Sprache umzustellen, fhren Sie bitte die folgenden Schritte durch:

Scrollen Sie mit der DOWN Taste einmal nach unten, bis Sie zu dem Menpunkt Settings gelangen

Besttigen Sie mit der OK Taste

Dadurch gelangen Sie zum Menpunkt Language.

Besttigen Sie einmal mit der OK Taste

Durch Bettigen der Tasten UP und DOWN knnen Sie nun zwischen den verschiedenen Sprachen whlen.

Besttigen Sie die gewnschte Sprache mit der OK Taste.

Das Gert ist fortan in Ihrer Wunschsprache eingestellt.

Einstellen der Hintergrundbeleuchtung

Die Hintergrundbeleuchtung lsst sich ebenfalls unter dem Menpunkt Einstellungen verndern.

Whlen Sie mit der OK Taste den Menpunkt Hintergrundbeleuchtung.

Stellen Sie mit den Tasten UP und DOWN die Helligkeit des Displays ein.

Sichern Sie mit der OK Taste die Einstellungen und verlassen Sie das Men.

! Durch Bettigen der Taste EXIT verlassen Sie das Men, ohne die Einstellungen zu speichern.

5 FunktionenAngabe des verbauten Bremssystems

Nach dem Anschlieen des Gertes kann im Fahrzeug nach dem Bremssteuergert gesucht werden. Wird ein WABCO Steuergert gefunden, wird dieses mit Namen und Gertegeneration angezeigt (z. B.: T EBS-E)

Auslesen des Fehlerspeichers:

Wenn im Fahrzeug ein WABCO Bremssystem von dem Gert erkannt wurde, kann das Gert den Speicher der ECU auslesen. Systemnachrichten werden im folgenden Format angezeigt:

BETROFFENE KOMPONENTE (SPN) FEHLERBESCHREIBUNG (FMI) FEHLERSTATUS

Beispiel: Errorcode 3/01 (0) bedeutet, dass ein zu groer Luftspalt zwischen Sensor und Polrad an Raddrehzahlsensor C vorliegt. Hinter jedem Fehlercode wird in Klammern eine 1 oder eine 0 dargestellt. Die 1 bedeutet, dass ein aktiver Fehler im System vorliegt, die 0 bedeutet, dass ein inaktiver Fehler gespeichert ist.

Unter Punkt 7 dieser Anleitung finden Sie Tabellen mit den entsprechenden Erluterungen zu jedem Fehlercode. Darber hinaus finden Sie auf der Rckseite des Gertes einen QR Code. Dieser fhrt Sie zu einer Webseite auf der ebenfalls die Bedeutungen der Fehlermeldungen eingesehen werden knnen und weiterfhrende Erluterungen aufgefhrt sind.

Lschen des Fehlerspeichers:

Mit dem ABS/ EBS Code Reader knnen Eintragungen im Fehlerspeicher des Bremssystems gelscht werden, solange es sich um inaktive Fehler handelt. Aktive Fehler knnen erst nach Beseitigung der Ursache gelscht werden.

Auslesen der ECU Produktnummer:

Mit dem ABS/ EBS Code Reader kann die WABCO Produktnummer des Bremsensteuergertes ausgelesen werden. Mithilfe der Produktnummer knnen Sie auf unserer Produktplattform INFORM http://inform.wabco-auto.com gezielt nach weiteren Informationen zum betroffenen Bremssystem suchen.

Auslesen der Diagnosekennung

Mit dem ABS/EBS Code Reader kann die Diagnosekennung ausgelesen werden. Diese kann fr eine genauere Hilfestellung durch Ihren WABCO Partner hilfreich sein.
