“UnabletoConnect”AppearsWhenthismessageappears,itmeansthatthesettingsfortheterminalandthecomputerarenotproperlydone.Findoutwhichmethodyouareusingtoconnect.TheterminaloffersLAN,RS232,RS485andUSBcommunicationmethods.RefertoChapter4tofurtherunderstandthetopic.

“AdminAffirm”AppearsYouarenottheadministratorofthisterminal.OnlyanauthorizedadministratorofthesystemisallowedtoaccesstheMenu.AnyattemptofnormalusertoaccesstheMenuwillprompt“AdminAffirm”messageonthescreen.Incasetheadministratororhe/shehasresignedfromthecompany,kindlycontactyourFingerTecauthorizedresellertoaccesstheterminal.

DifficulttoReadFingerFivethingscouldbethecauseofthis:

Enrolmentisnotproperlydone:Enrolmentisthemostimportantprocesstoensurethattheterminalcapturesthebestqualityofyourfingerprints.Refertochapter4forhowtodoagoodenrollment.

Thelocationoftheterminalisnotconducive:Thescannerdoesnotworkwellinbright-lightedarea.Coverthescanneralittleifthisisthecauseofthedifficulty.Shiftthelocationareaforabetterperformance.

Finger isnotproperlyplaced:Togetagoodread,makesurethatyourfinger’scenterpointsarelocatedatthemiddleofthescanner.Adjustthepositionofyourfingerprintasyouseeitonscreen.

The scanner is not cleaned or it is scratched: Checkthequalityofthescanner. If thescannerisdirty,pleasecleanitwithamicrofibercloth.Ifitisscratched,contactyourlocalresellerforareplacement.

Didanythinghappentoyourfingerlately?Makesurethatthefingerisnotinjured,cutorbruisedwhichcouldcauseitdifficultytoread.Thealgorithmreadstheminutiaepointsofyourfingerprint,themoreitcanread,thebettertheresult.

TheLEDisBlinkingAllTheTimeYouhavenothingtoworryaboutunlesstheblinkinglightisred.Thegreenblinkinglightisindicatingthattheterminalisunderitsstandbymode.Redblinkinglightmaysignalproblemintheterminal.Contactyourresellerforconsultation.

“DuplicateFinger”AppearsFingerTecterminalsareintelligent.Itwillnotacceptthesamefingerprinttwiceintoitssystem.Ifyouhaveregisteredafingerintotheterminal,thesystemwouldprompt“du-plicate finger”whenyou try toenroll that finger foranother time.Chooseadifferentfingertoproceed.
