“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” ~ Saint Augustine What’s the plan Day 1: South Africa – Boston: Depart from South Africa on your flight to Boston, USA Day 2: Boston: On arrival in Boston you will be met by your local Travel & Sport representative, and shown to your coach. Check in at your hotel and then you are off on your first excursion. Enjoy a visit to Paul Revere House & Old South Meeting House. On the night of April 18, 1775, silversmith Paul Revere left his small wooden home in Boston's North End and set out on a journey that would make him into a legend. Today his home is still standing at 19 North Square and has become a national historic landmark. It is downtown Boston's oldest building and one of the few remaining from an early era in the history of colonial America. Later on soak up the atmosphere at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, located in downtown Boston, steps away from the waterfront. Faneuil Hall Marketplace is as alive today as it was in 1742 when it was proclaimed as "The Cradle of Liberty." Finish off with a two-course dinner at a local restaurant. Day 3: MIT & Harvard: After breakfast enjoy private guided tours of MIT and Harvard. Thereafter you will have the opportunity to attend a private lecture at either MIT or Harvard.This evening enjoy a local college theatre production. Day 4: Boston: After breakfast you will have a chance to visit the MIT Museum and the John F Kennedy Library & Museum. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure for some shopping and exploring. Day 5: New Haven & New York: This morning, start making your way to New York City, stopping en-route at Yale University. Enjoy lunch in the student dining hall and thereafter you will have another opportunity to attend a private lecture at Yale. On arrival in New York City this afternoon, check in to your accommodation. This evening you will have dinner the Hard Rock Café and finish off the day with a spectacular view from the Empire State Building’s 86th Floor Observatory. Day 6: New York: After breakfast, enjoy a full day ofguided tours and interesting excursions. First on theagenda is the Staten Island Ferry trip with wonderfulviews of the Statue of Liberty. You will also be visitingthe 9/11 Memorial. This afternoon you will be goingon a private guided tour of the United NationsHeadquarters. Attend a private lecture at ColumbiaUniversity.

Day 7: New York: Another busy day in the big apple. This morning you will be visiting the magnificent American Museumof Natural History and the Rose Centre for Earth & Space.At the heart of the Rose Center for Earth and Space is an 87-foot-diameter sphere that appears to float inside a glass cube. Its upperhalf constitutes the Hayden Planetarium, which opened in 2000 alongwith the Rose Center for Earth and Space. It remains an enduring beaconof astrophysical education, as was its predecessor, which opened in1935. Finish off today with visits to Times Square, Central Park and5th Avenue.

Day 8: Washington: This morning you will be transferring to Washington, stopping en-route at Princeton to enjoy a privatewalking tour, including the Genius Neighbourhood. This eveningenjoy a three-course dinner at UNO Chicago Grill.

Day 9: Washington: This morning you will be visiting the incredible Arlington National Cemetery as well as a tour of US Capitol Building (subject to approval). In 1864, U.S. Secretary of War Edwin M.Stanton officially designated Arlington Mansion and two hundred surrounding acres as a United States military cemetery. Today, more than300,000 people are buried at Arlington Cemetery.Later this afternoon you will be visiting the fascinating Newseum Inter-active Museum. The seven-level, 23,000 m2 museum features 15 theatresand 14 galleries. The Today's Front Pages Gallery presents daily frontpages from more than 80 international newspapers. Other galleries presenttopics including news history, the September 11 attacks, the First Amend-ment, world press freedom and the history of the Internet, TV and radio.

Day 10: Smithsonian Museums: After breakfast you will have timeto visit the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall. Eleven of the 19 Smithsonian Institution museums and galleries are at the NationalMall in Washington D.C., the open-area national park in Washington, D.C running between the Lincoln Memorial and the UnitedStates Capitol, with the Washington Monument providing a division slightlywest of the centre.Later this afternoon enjoy some shopping at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall.

Day 11: Washington –South Africa: After break-fast you will transfer to the

airport for your jour-ney back home toSouth Africa.

Day 12: SouthAfrica: Arrive inSouth Africa aftera wonderful,enriching tour ofthe USA.
