Our institution takes great pride in its past; it has served the Hungarian higher education for over 250 years. Throughout its history, the Hungarian University of Fine Arts’s mission and primary goals have remained the same: to preserve the living traditions of both Hungarian and European fine arts, while also creating new value through an openness to trends in contemporary art and reflection thereon. Since 1871 the University has provided education and training to the future actors of the cultural scene in all areas of the visual arts.

Practical studio training is conducted and personally instructed by the leading artists of the country. In addition to practical training, theoretical subjects make up a fundamental component of the education. Extending far beyond a general scope, a firm background in the specialized visual arts-related branches of history, theory, and sociology is of indispensable importance for the students.

Our university of applied sciences is located in Dunaújváros, in the central region of Hungary on the banks of the river Danube, 70 km to the South of Budapest.

15% of our students are international students who come from more than 30 different countries. We actively participate in the Erasmus+ KA103 and KA107 projects as well as the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program.

There are more than 50 laboratories at the campus of our university, many of which are devoted to the practical classes of our students. A few of our laboratories are involved in research and development projects in cooperation with the industrial companies of our region. We are interested in promoting cooperation in education and research in the academic areas

University of Physical Education

Uniting mind, strength and morals

The University of Physical Education (TE) and its institutional predecessor is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in Europe in the field of body culture, including sports and education. TE combines its traditions and culture to match the new challeng-es of a knowledge-based society, while taking into consideration various socio-economic demands.

TE preserves its traditions and permanently develops in harmony with what the given period requires. This is why in its educational strategy, theoretical and practical knowledge complement each other. In order to ensure competitive knowledge for the students in each field of study, the amount of sport training has increased. While developing its educational content, the institution became aware of the practice-based demands formulated by the repre-sentatives of sport federations and educational institutes, some of the future utilizers of knowledge. As a result, the training programs

HRC is in active cooperation with ministries, embassies (both in and out of Hungary), public foundations, national agencies, universities, and the press.

The Hungarian Rectors’ Conference (HRC), as the unique representative body of local universities, is proud to be one of the oldest and most prestigious organizations in Hungary responsible for the university sector, academic cooperation and internationalization of higher education.

HRC operates with a young and enthusiastic team, with strong engagement towards development, focusing on innovative solutions and keen to achieve outstanding success together with its partners in the realization of joint higher education projects.

HRC promotes Hungarian higher education worldwide, organizes roundtables, conferences and workshops, manages incoming and outgoing delegations’ visits, and coordinates short-term study (e.g.: summer university) and scholarship programs. HRC enhances collaboration with international partner organizations and promotes bilateral cooperation between Hungarian and
