in nature. Bring your pets to the Port Vue site at 9:45am for this special blessing.

    Saint Francis, pray for us!

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,

O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and the other evil spirits, who prowl about

the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

O Jesus, in union with Your Most Precious Blood poured out on this cross and offered in every Mass, I offer you today my prayers, works, joys, sorrows and sufferings for the praise of Your Holy Name and all the desires of Your Sacred Heart; in reparation for sin, for the conversion of sinners, the union of all Christians and our final union with You in Heaven.

USING OFFERTORY ENVELOPES As we begin the new Interim Mass Schedule the weekend of 21 October, you may be wondering if the offertory changes. Actually, the Offertory does not change. Please continue offering your parish envelopes here at Saint Mark Parish. And if you attend Mass at Saint Michael or Queen of the Rosary Parish, you may offer your Saint Mark envelopes at those parishes, and they will forward your envelopes to our parish (as we will do for them). Your donations are not changed in how they are counted or used in our parish. Thank you for your generous and continuous support.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. Is it our light, not our darkness that most

frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about

shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. You all are meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are

liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

  • Do Not Prevent Him – In this weekend’s Gospel the Apostles are worried when they see someone who is not one of them driving out demons in Jesus’ name. Jesus could have responded with

frustration or anger that someone was stealing his thunder. Instead, however, he welcomes this man’s

ministry, responding, “do not prevent him. For whoever is not against us is for us.” It highlights an

openness to the sharing of gifts and talents to support the work of Jesus in the world and he seeks to

heal, strengthen, forgive and empower others. On Mission for The Church Alive! provides an

opportunity for the faithful to look for new opportunities to do good in Jesus’ name. While there are

many things our parishes provide for our communities, there are always new ways to inspire faith and

serve others. If you’re already involved, welcome the good things others are seeking to do to build up

the Church. If you’re not involved, don’t be afraid to think outside the box and be open to where God might be inviting you

to be a source of light to others. Visit OnMissionChurchAlive.org to learn more. STAY ACTIVE AND STAY INFORMED!
