How do I access the Disability Standards for Education
(DSE) eLearning modules in the new NCCD portal?
Disability Standards for Education (DSE) e-learning
The e-learning courses, previously housed with the University of Canberra, are designed to help staff uphold
their legal obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Disability Standards for
Education 2005 (the Standards) which focus on providing fair access to education for students with disability.
▪ Go to the NEW national portal for the NCCD at www.nccd.edu.au

Some additional important points:
NO records of staff details/emails/course completion etc have been brought across from the previous
University of Canberra site where the DSE eLearning modules used to exist
▪ ALL staff wishing to start a course will need to FIRSTLY register for the NCCD portal
▪ Diocesan systems will be given access to a school report of whom has completed an
eLearning course at the end of each term – these arrangements are currently with ESA
as as to “how” this happens
▪ Schools/dioceses should STRONGLY encourage their staff in schools to
o use their SCHOOL email for registering
o save and print their own certificate when they complete a course
o provide the school with a copy of the certificate (as a safeguard if there is a
delay in accessing a school completion report each term from ESA)
▪ VERY IMPORTANT When entering your email address, it must be your SCHOOL or ORGANISATIONAL address.
The portal will currently only accept the following email domains for Catholic schools
across all states:
