About 6 weeks ago they had VBS here with around 400 the last day. In 2014, they had 500, but were transporting children in from surrounding villages. Later the brethren decided there was much risk transporting so many minors without parents and that the church facilities aren't adequate for so many. So this year they only invited the town of San Jose, and had 400( population: 3, 800) Many precious souls heard about the life of Abraham, the friend of God, and how we in 2015 can follow Christ, and be a friend of God. TECATE We in Tecate are thankful to the Lord for His grace and help. Bible class teachers and Sunday School teachers have been elected. Every month we try to send a brother, or a couple to support the work in San José, 13 hours away. Our VBS was a blessing with around 150 children. Again, we were privileged to have volunteers from the US and Canada who came to help with the youth choir, prizes, and all-around support for our VBS. During the day the group enjoyed going to sing for a sister who is paralyzed and in bed, and helping paint and with other jobs at the Little Hands orphanage. Then a vanful from Tecate went to help in the San Jose VBS. There are only 18 believers there, some of them elderly, so they were thankful for the energy of the youth from Tecate who helped. May the Lord bless you for your support in love, prayers, financial giving and so many ways. Greetings dear ones.

Recently the song "Learning to lean,I'm learning to lean on Jesus" hascome to mind as we face thechallenges of each day.

SAN JOSE, SONORA

We write to you from tropical San Jose, Sonora. Most of the trip today the temperature was 105degrees. Now even at 9 PM, it's 93 degrees andvery humid. We have an electric roaster cookingbeans during the night, because we decided itwould be too hot to use the stove in the daytime.

We thank the Lord for having another baptismhere in May and that the Lord continues callingsouls. A man who once was homeless here, sleeping on the street in a blanket, and enslavedto drugs, is now faithful at church , has a stablejob, well-dressed and bought a car. BOOKS by VICTOR SCHLATTER NOWAVAILABLE from ACCF Latest release: Hatred of the Jew: Why and When Did the Barrage Begin?

The stark reality that the first four nuclear families of Scripture give us onehomicide, two attempted homicides plus two fraternally spawned ideologies, arean overview of what the Bible calls “an ancient hatred.” Thus a carnal nature ofboth Jew and non-Jew alike play out in Hatred of the Jew with an intriguinginsight into the “WHY.” Adding the notorious serpent of Genesis 3:15 rounds outthe story.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We greet you heartily in the Name of our Lord Jesus!

We want to thank our dear Heavenly Father for manyrich blessings felt in our two congregations in Mexico,Tecate and Sonora (San Jose). Over the years, bothcongregations have been blessed with physical andspiritual blessings from the hand of our Lord, and thelove of dear believers.

Both congregations are located in humblesurroundings with limited financial resources. Theircontinued success depends on the Love of Godmoving in the hearts of brothers and sisters inresponse to the financial needs of this important work.We want to share some of the ongoing efforts andrelated financial needs.

Tecate

• VBS Tecate: $600 annually - they are able to host150-200 children from the neighborhood for thisweek.

• Travel to Sonora (ministerial and spiritual support):$300-600/month, up to $7,200 annually - Since thereis only one trial minister in San Jose, the goal is tosend one brother or couple or family from Tecate tohelp each month. There is a 13 hour car trip, and foodand utility expenses to reimburse the hosts of theguests, since the Sonora believers are very poor andcannot afford the extra costs.

Sonora (San Jose)

• VBS San Jose: $600 annually - they are able to host400-500 children from the neighborhood for thisweek.

• The pastor home on the church property has beeninfested with termites and structural repairs arecritical. Estimated costs are $10,000.

• Sonora needs to purchase a van so the group can visitthe sick, pick up people from the surrounding area tobring them to church and travel to visit Tecate whenthere is a baptism or other event. Approximate cost is$5,000.

Above all, we hope that you will support these missionefforts with prayer. We depend on the Lord for Hisdirection and providence. We are confident the Lordwill richly reward all cheerful givers!

At the start of the 2015/16 academicyear in early September 2015, all the classrooms on theground and first floor of the building have also been painted. There was some blockage in the sewerage system on theground floor. This has been repaired by the grace of the Lord. The new Board of Directors appointed for the school havestarted work and school activities are in full swing.

SWEDRU BRANCH: This is a new branch that has beenopened at Swedru in the Eastern Region. It is now beingoperated from two adjacent shops that have been joined intoone. them and it isexpected that itwill impact theirlivelihood. Wehope to deepen ouractivities in thisarea next season.(This project is receiving support from the Canadian churches, and is a wonderful outreach to the local people in this area.)

MISSIONARY VISITS: A team of five Ghanaian missionaries(pastors from the Accra churches) visited four churches in theEastern Region. The churches are Etse, Maame Krobo, Dimand Taylor Kope. Services were held at each church and a filmon the life of Jesus Christ was shown to the public at Etse,Maame Krobo and Taylor Kope.

The annual Women's Conference was held last month atMataheko. It saw a massive attendance. The program was ahuge success and many lives were touched.

God bless you all for you support of the work in Ghana.!

What does it mean to be an ACCF Trustee? When I was young child, Sunday was the best day of the week. I would sit in an old wooden pew with my Father andGrandfather. It was the best place in the world to be. I felt the presence of God there and felt surrounded by His love and thelove of His people. I expected God to answer every prayer (in precisely the way that I desired). I expected that everyonewould get along with each other and that we’d all lead lives of full of happy, peaceful, bliss. Needless to say, although Godhas been very good to me, I have not always experienced the utopia that I expected when I was 5 or 6 years old. Inretrospect, I see my 50+ years younger self as being naïve, and yet, at my current stage in life, I believe I have a betterunderstanding of why Jesus said that we must become as children if we want to enter into the kingdom of heaven. As a trustee, it is important that I bring both the optimistic perspective of my 5 year old self coupled with the life experiencethat I’ve gained through the “school of hard knocks”. God wants me to keep expecting great things from Him as if I werestill five years old, but he also wants me to use everything he’s taught me along the way. Each trustee needs to bring thoseaccumulated years of spiritual, relational, and business experience together with their inner 5 year old if we are to worktogether and produce something worthwhile for God’s kingdom. We all come from different life experiences, but it’s thefaith-filled, hopeful, child in us that still inspires that first love for Jesus, that first love for the church, and that first love foreach other. My Grandfather’s generation and many of my Father’s generation have already passed on to be with Jesus, but I am thankfulthat we still have believers who have answered the call to be trustees and share the vision of coming together and workingtogether to pass the simple faith of a child onto the next generation. I pray that whether or not you are a trustee that you sharethe same conviction.Rod Koch, Trustee President

School News

Once again we want to thank all of you who have donatedtowards the scholarship program. Over 80 children weresponsored this past year and parents are filling outapplications for 2016 already, praying for financial aid fortheir child’s education. We are also thankful for yoursupport in this area and remind you that we need to havethese donations for scholarships by the end of the year sothat they can be enrolled for the 2016 school year. Today wehad our final chapel (church service) with our JuniorHigh/High school students. Three of these students werewith us for all 13 years of education. The seed has beenplanted and we blessed them, sending them out to be the Saltand Light in this world.

God has placed a burden on our Elementary Principal’s heartto work with the special needs people. We will be openingour doors on a wider range for these students. We areworking along with Teleton, a special needs facility near ourschool. They are sending us some students in the afternoonclasses who can be immersed in regular grades or beadmitted into a special classroom. For several years we havebeen including these children, but now, more and morepeople are hearing about this program and we are workingout details with the Ministry of Education in order to offermore assistance to these families.

Praise God with us for the families of the students sponsoredthrough these donations. Praise God for the seed that isbeing sown in the hearts of little students and the growth ofthat seed that will produce fruit for His Kingdom. PraiseGod for the teachers who bless the special needs students andfamilies with extra special love and patience. God is doingmiracles in these children and families.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,In addition to our current ministry with our own boys, we aregoing to expand our ministry by reaching out to thecommunity by starting a daycare center, as a way to reachdisadvantaged children and their families. We are veryexcited about the potential this program will have, and wesincerely hope we can count on your prayers as we walk ourway through these new challenges. There is much to considerand decide, and we feel keenly our need for wisdom from theLord. As Brazilian law has changed towards a foster caresystem, we are seeking ways we can be good stewards of allthat has been entrusted to us … the boys, the land andbuildings and the resources you have provided so faithfully. We are in continual prayer as we seek the Lord’s will in all ofthese areas.

We want to express a special thank you to each of you whohave participated in the pen pal program. Your letters light uptheir days. It’s a personal way to help them feel connected tothe body of Christ, and we can’t thank you enough.

As we are in the Christmas season, we wanted to share withyou a personal story from our family. We adopted one of theboys from the Nepomuceno Boys’ Home 25 years ago, andwe thought we would share our story from Rick’s point ofview. We are thankful for all that the Lord has done over thelast 50 years, especially in the lives of the boys who lived inthe home. Here is his story:

The Gift of Family - Richard Joseph TothMy name used to be Ricardo Cordovil Montinhos dos Santos. That was the name given to me by a heart surgeon whoadopted me when I was about 4 years old. I have neverknown for certain my real name or birth date. I had lived in astate orphanage since I was 2 years old. I remember runningaway from the orphanage and going door to door begging forfood several times. I would be happy with the leftoverspeople would put in a bag for me to eat. It reminds ofMathew 15:27 “And she said, ‘Yes Lord, yet even the littledogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.’” Inthe state orphanage, there were many times when kids wereabused to the point of torture. Thankfully the Lord protectedme during those horrible times.

The last time I saw my birth mom was at age 2. One thing Iremember about her is that she would always give me treatsas I waited for her to be done with her dance routine at thestrip club she worked at most nights. The only other thing Iremember about her is her name, Alice. In 1984, the heartsurgeon was looking for a child to adopt because his wife wasnot able to have another child. They already had a 4 year oldboy. The Lord provided me with a new family and I was

adopted by the doctor. Unfortunately, my new family wasshort-lived. One year later, his wife became pregnant andthey did not want to have a three children. They decided Iwould have to go back to the state orphanage. I begged themnot to take me back to that horrible place. The doctor hadvisited the Nepomuceno Boys Home while searching for achild to adopt. He took me there for a visit and asked me tochoose between the two orphanages.

When I was 5 yearsold, I was dropped offat the NepomucenoBoys Home withmany “riches.” I hada video game system,a guitar, a bike, andtons of toys -everything a 5 yearold would want. Allthose things were

either taken or broken by the other 35 boys in a short timeafter I came to the orphanage. My name was shortened toRicardo Cordovil. I took on the doctor’s wife last name. Thedoctor kept my birth certificate and any information thatwould identify my true origin. To this day, I still don’t knowmy real name, birth date, or if I have any birth relatives.

I lived at the Nepomuceno Boys Homefor six years. Compared to the waymost children are raised, life was noteasy at the orphanage. From the time Ijoined the orphanage at age 5 to thetime I left at age 11, I was alwaysassigned chores. One of my firstchores was to sweep the dirt drivewaysand sidewalks around the wholeproperty. I remember doing at least 4hrs of chores most days. I moved on tomore responsible chores as I got older.I mowed the lawn; worked in the farm - hewing the field, picking coffee, corn, beans, and cutting hay; hand-washed theclothes of 35 boys; helped cook in the kitchen; worked in thebarn - picked eggs, cleaned pigpens, milked the cows byhand, cleaned the horse and cow barn, and fed all the animalstwice daily. At first, I did not enjoy doing all those chores. At the orphanage, I was taught Colossians 3:23-24 “Andwhatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not untomen, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the rewardof the inheritance.” The Lord really spoke to my heartthrough that verse and since that time on, I always tried to domy best at whatever task I was given. That experience alsotaught me the value of hard work, never to take anything for

granted - that someone has paid a price for everything, and tonever feel entitled to anything. I have tried to continue toapply these values to my life even today.

When I went to live in the orphanage in 1985 at age 5, ArtHaring was the director. During the time I was there, theorphanage went through three directors, Art Haring, Brentand Debbie Freeman, and Amalrie. I had many counselors -Jane Kovacs, Juarez Toth, Pedrinho, Carrie Magyesi, Ann-Marie Dudok, and several other short term workers. When Iwas 7 years old, Bonnie Manningham from Mansfield, Ohio, came to visit the orphanage. She decided she wanted toadopt me and I agree that I would like to go live with her inthe USA. An adoption process was started in 1987. In alater time, Bonnie’s husband, a commercial airline pilot diedin an airplane crash because of a malfunction during a flighttakeoff. This made my adoption process extremelycomplicated. About 3 years later, the process had not goneanywhere. Although I had many counselors, the person whomentored me the most from ages 5 to 11 was Jane Kovacs. As far as I knew, she was the only real mom I had ever had.In 1989, during one of his visits to the orphanage, Juarez Tothasked Jane Kovacs to marry him. When I learned that shewould leave, I was extremely upset. I didn’t want to lose my“mom.” Since I saw nothing was happening with my newadoption, I asked Jane to adopt me herself. I wrote a letter toJuarez stating the fact that he could not take away my“mom,” Jane. I asked him to adopt me so I could live withboth of them. In 1990 they were married. I kept praying tothe Lord that somehow he would have either Bonnie or Janeadopt me. The Lord never forgot me. In 1991, Jane andJuarez Toth adopted me. I was given a new name again,Richard Joseph Toth. I also got a made up birth certificate. My new birth date became November 23, 1979. The lawyersestimated how old they thought I could be based on abouthow long I had lived in past locations. The Lord finally gaveme a permanent family.

When I moved tothe United Statesin 1991, Jane andJuarez had beenmarried just over1 year and had a 3month old girl. Idid not knowalmost anyEnglish. Mymom spent

countless hours teaching me English and would label everysingle thing in the house with Portuguese and English. Therewere labels on all the walls and things. I went to 6th gradeand couldn’t speak or write English at all. The teacher gaveextra credit to each student who would shadow me each day.At the end of that year, after lots of work and study, I learnedEnglish. By the time I was in 7th grade, I knew English as

well as most of my peers. Starting in 8th grade through 11thgrade, I was homeschooled.

Although while at the orphanage I learned many biblicalprinciples through the daily devotionals and weekly churchmeetings, I did not make a commitment to follow the Lorduntil I was 15 years old. I made that commitment when ScottToth preached a message of salvation at the RochesterApostolic Christian Church in 1994. I decided that I wastired of trying to be good enough and understood my need tocontinue to trust Jesus and let him be Lord and Savior of mylife. The Lord continues to work in my life daily and when Ifail, the Holy Spirit always reminds me of Philippians 1:6“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun agood work in you will complete it until the day of JesusChrist.” In 1994 I was given a second permanent family. Ibecame part of the family of God.

God has continued to bless me throughout the years. I wasable to attend a community college my senior year of highschool. Then I went to Pensacola Christian College inFlorida for 1.5 years. I transferred to Washington StateUniversity and completed a Bachelors in Biology in 2002.While on a mission trip to South Central L.A. with thePortland Apostolic Christian Church, I met my wonderfulwife Nicole. We were married in 2002. The Lord providedme with a job and a home in Richland WA in 2004. He alsogave me 3 great children - Sophia, Tristan, and Jenna. SinceI am counting my blessings, I am now up to three permanentfamilies.

My life has been filled with many hills and valleys. My momJane chose the middle name Joseph for me because she saysmy story reminds her of the story of Joseph in the Bible. Hewas sent to a foreign land and went through many trials.Although things seemed hopeless, Joseph continued to trustGod. God was always in control. The Lord was faithful andpoured many blessings on Joseph. The Lord has always beenin control in my life as well and continues to pour out hisblessings on me.

Whenever I tell my story, the Holy Spirit alwaysreminds me of these twoverses: Romans 8:28“And we know that allthings work together forgood to those who loveGod, to those who arecalled according to Hispurpose,” and Jeremiah29:11 “for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saysthe Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you afuture and a hope.” As I continue to trust Him, I live inanticipation, ready for the next adventure and blessing thatthe Lord has in store for me.

Canaan Land MinistriesDear Brothers and Sisters,

At the beginning of September, our new external board ofdirectors began their work to help administer the CLMfinances and personnel. We would like to take thisopportunity to introduce each one of them so that you canunderstand how best to pray for them as they begin theirministry at CLM:

Anderson Kasnocha, usually known asjust "Kasnocha" is the president of thenew CLM Board. He and his wifeDaniele (Dani) have been married since2010 and are expecting their first childin February.

Anderson grew up coming to CLMEntre Rios often, as he was friends withsome of the CLM boys who lived at Entre Rios during the1990s. He has been president of the local AC Church boardfor the last four years and is the leader of one of the church'sworship teams. He was involved in the Training for Lifeprogram that was done with the CLM kids in April throughJuly of this year. Dani was also involved at CLM this year, helping plan and rehearse the CLM Easter play this year.

Anderson and Dani are currently unemployed. This is a plusfor Anderson being able to spend more time at CLM for rightnow, but it is a concern for their finances, especially with thebaby coming soon. They are also in the process of building ahome. Please pray for God's provision for all their needs asAnderson seeks to spend as much time as possible at CLMwhile also looking for a new job to support his growingfamily. Pray for God's direction as he seeks employment.

"Sergeant Nilson" is CLM's new vice-president. He has been coming to CLM EntreRios off and on since about 10 years ago. Fora time, when he was working as a policeofficer in the colony, he would come with hispartner almost weekly to talk with the CLMkids. Now he is a police sergeant in Pinhão, acity to the south of Entre Rios. He and Anderson Kasnocha, now president of CLM, coordinated the project Training forLife in April through June of this year. Nilson has a heart forthe kids of CLM and wants to see each of them in theenvironment that will be most beneficial to their growth anddevelopment. Anderson Lemke is the treasurer of the CLM Board. He is thetreasurer of the local Apostolic Christian Church in Entre Riosand owns a transport company that belonged to his father.

The business has several cars and 16-passenger vans that areused to transport mostly people, but also some cargo.

Anderson and his wife Leia have two grown sons who live athome, both of whom are in college. Matheus (19) is in histhird year of Computer Science and Leonardo (17) is in hisfirst year of Physical Education. Anderson and Leia weremembers of the worship team at church for many years, and

Matheus and Leo grew up going toworship team practices with theirparents and started learning to playinstruments at an early age.Normally, Leo plays guitar andMatheus plays drum set, but theyalso play bass guitar and are starting

to learn keyboard. They are involved in the worship team forchurch services and lead the worship for the youth activities. Please pray that God would continue to mold these young meninto His image as they serve Him.

Please pray for God's direction in this family's life asAnderson is now more involved at CLM. Pray that Godwould bless them and show them how He wants to use themin His Kingdom. Pray for some health issues that keep Leiafrom being as involved as she would like to be.

Juan Villalba is the secretary of CLM’s new Board ofDirectors. He is the husband of Bethany (Shurance) and thefather of Rachel (14) and Caleb (7). Juan has his doctoratedegree in Chemistry and is presently a college professor atFaculdade Guarapuava where he teaches both chemistry andphysics. He also teaches a few chemistry classes at the privatehigh school in the colony.

Juan has a long history with CLM ever sincehe was a young boy. He spent much of hischildhood at CLM because of his friendshipwith the CLM boys. His mother oftencommented that as long as she knew thatJuan was spending his time at CLM, she wasnot concerned. It was like a second home tohim and she knew he was in good hands. Of all of the Boardmembers, Juan has the most understanding of the insideworkings of CLM and what the kids live on a day to day basis. He is also a man of deep thoughts and godly wisdom. We arethankful for God’s calling of Juan to be part of CLM’s newBoard of Directors.

Please pray for each member of the CLM Board as well as thestaff members during this transition time. May God beglorified through all we do!

Counting on your prayers,The CLM staff
