Finance up to £10,000The Department of Energy and ClimateChange (DECC) aims to revolutionise theenergy efficiency of British properties. It plans to help home owners makeenergy-saving home improvements for noupfront cost. From 2013, home ownersmay be able to get finance of up to£10,000 to insulate their homes. DuraCladding is designed to be used inconjunction with external wall insulationfor houses with a solid wall non insulatedstructure.

Recent press also suggests that homeowners who insulate their homes, couldbe offered a reduction in stamp duty orcouncil tax.

As the UK benefits from the costs savingsassociated with externally insulated walls,Dura Cladding can provide a cost-effective and easy-to-install solution fortransforming the appearance of anybuilding at the same time as achievingenergy cost savings.

Installation systemDura Cladding is generally installed onto50mm x 50mm timber battens screwed tothe wall and spaced at 400mm centres.

When insulating exterior walls, the battensneed to be increased in depth to 100mm.

75mm thickness Celotex FR5000 PIRinsulation or similar is then fixed to thewall between the battens, leaving a 25mmair gap at the front. Dura Cladding is thenfixed to the timber batten with screws inthe usual way. This insulating systembenefits houses, barns, outbuildings, offices, factories and commercialbuildings, providing vastly improvedinsulation, as well as transforming theappearance.
