What is the SOF ?1
The SACCO Operational Forum (formally known as the SACCO Leaders Forum)
is an annual event organized by the African
Confederation of Cooperative Savings & Credit Associations (
ACCOSCA).
Each year we choose a different SACCO related
theme to focus our attention on during the
forum. This year’s SOF theme is: 'Managing
Change For Effective Integration in CFIs'‘.
The forum attracts participation from over 19 countries and is facilitated by renowned speakers with extensive experience in the
cooperative sector.
Why have a SOF ?

The SOF was created to address key operational challenges SACCOs face on a day to day basis.
The SOF is also designed to instill cooperative practices
and principles to ensure that a unified cooperative identity is maintained as
SACCOs transition through various stages of growth .

Objectives of 7th Annual SOF?
Expose senior managers to reputable IT solutions that will enable them to serve members effectively
Evaluate the impact of IT solutions in overall management of cooperative financial institutions
Explore key SACCO operational areas to enhance efficiency
Promote institutional partnerships for development

Local NGOs interested in learning co-operative model integration
Academic institutions, and policy and research institutions interested in SACCOs
Financial institutions interested in partnering with the sector on product diversifications

The SOF is held on a rotational basis in various countries in Africa. This year, the forum is being held in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Birchwood Hotel & OR Tambo Conference Centre.
