    2. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced School

    Quality Assessment and Accreditation (SQAA), with a view to imrove the !uality ofschool education in the country. CBSE schools will have to under"o mandatory

    accreditation. Schools affiliated to CBSE will #e assessed throu"h standardi$ed

    instruments and rocesses of internal (self%evaluation) and e&ternal assessment

    (eer review). The #oard will constitute a team of eer assessors to conduct the

    e&ternal assessment. The team is li'ely to comrise of rincials wor'in" or retired

    or academicians with vast e&erience and havin" insi"ht into school education in

    ndia. The #oard will also conduct an online screenin" test which will have two

    sections* Section A will consistin" of multile choice !uestions #ased on the SQAA

    manual and section B will #e #ased on various case studies.

    +. The results of the ilot run conducted #y the Board were not too encoura"in",

    ust one of the -2 schools assessed in e#ruary%/arch mana"ed to ass the review.

    CBSE had shortlisted 02 a"encies for the ne&t round of the ilot run under which 1-

    schools were assessed.

    -. The 02 emanelled a"encies that will conduct CBSE School Quality

    Assessment and Accreditation (SQAA) include ACE Edutrend, oida, Education

    Quality oundation of ndia, ew 3elhi, Academy or 4lo#al Education Services,

    /ulund, and CBT Education Service, 5ydera#ad.

    1. As art of accreditation, Schools will #e ud"ed on seven arameters 6

    scholastic rocesses, co%scholastic rocesses, infrastructure, human resource,

    mana"ement and administration, leadershi and #eneficiary satisfaction. Schools

    should at least "et 178 mar's in each arena and an overall of 918 to clear the

    rocess.

    :. The seven arameters are divided into 217 su#%domains such as life s'ills,

    value systems, attitude, wor' education, visual and erformin" arts, co%scholastic

    activities, health and hysical activities, health cards, classrooms, li#rary, la#oratory,

    comuter la#s and CT facilities, lay"round, transortation facilities, "irls; rest

    rooms, infirmary, water and sanitation and health mana"ement facilities.

    9. All schools have to aly for accreditation within three years. n case any

    school fails in the assessment, it can realy within five years. But if it fails twice

    consecutively, it will lose CBSE affiliation. Schools will have to "et accredited every

    three years. At the end of the assessment, schools will receive a reort hi"hli"htin"

    areas where they need to imrove.
