It is full of informaon on the program, including our collaborave partners, current projects and latest news and events happening within ACCTERM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support and involvement on the ACCTERM Event in the past week. Our Strategy Meeng at QUT, GP campus on Nov.22nd, ACCTERM 2018 Conference at Cairns from Nov.22nd to Nov. 24th, workshop between QUT and SICCAS on Nov. 20th, 2018 and Chinese Delegate vising QUT on Nov. 21st, all these strengthen the links and commit to a long-term, mutually posive relaonship between Australia and China. The 2018 ACCTERM is the first open-registraon conference aſter five successful ACCTERM Forum since 2013. It is our great pleasure to have over 90 aendee from Australia, China and Europe this year and the conference provides the opportunity to share the current research progress and develop future collaboraon in Tissue Engineering and Regenerave Medicine. Director’s Message Welcome to the thirteenth issue of the Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine’s newsletter. It is full of information on the program, including our collaborative partners, current projects and latest news and events happening within ACCTERM.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support and involvement on the ACCTERM Event in the past week. Our Strategy Meeting at QUT, GP campus on Nov.22nd, ACCTERM 2018 Conference at Cairns from Nov.22nd to Nov. 24th, workshop between QUT and SICCAS on Nov. 20th, 2018 and Chinese Delegate visiting QUT on Nov. 21st, all these strengthen the links and commit to a long-term, mutually positive relationship between Australia and China.

The 2018 ACCTERM is the first open-registration conference after five successful ACCTERM Forum since 2013. ACCTERM Strategy Meeting 2018

The strategy meeting for Australia-China Centre of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM) was hold at OJW, GP campus, QUT on 22nd, Nov. 2018. The meeting was a great success with achievements summaries from Chinese collaborators and two MOU were signed between QUT and Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of

Sciences, and between Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation and the School of Stomatology, Wuhan University in China . The representative from QUT, ACCTERM Chinese partners from SYSU, ECUST, WHU, SICCAS, GMU, HUST, SWJTU, SCU and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science, Consulate-General of PR China in Brisbane attended this meeting. News has been reported by China Daily and Xinhua Net.

ACCTERM Conference 2018

The Australia-China Conference for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM) 2018, developed from previous ACCTERM annual Forum since 2013, is the first open-registration conference and has attracted more than 90 delegate from Australia and China. The conference was held in Cairns from 22nd to 24th Nov. Delegate shared their re-search progress on stem cells, tissue engineering, biomaterials and regenerative medicine.

PhD students and ECRs from both nations have actively got involved and ACCTERM an-nounced the best presentation awards in the conference dinner.

Researchers come from Queensland University of Technology, the University of Queens-land, The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, University of South Australia, Universi-ty of Western Australia, Monash University, Deakin University, Wuhan University, Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University, East China University of Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Guangzhou Medical University gave wonderful presentations on the advanced research and there were heated discussions for potential collaboration.

QUT-SICCAS Workshop

On 20th, Nov, QUT-SICCAS Workshop was held by CPME school, QUT at OJW room, GP campus to broaden the current collaboration, developing from tissue engineering and re-generative medicine via ACCTERM to smart materials, energy materials , computational material science and nano devices, etc. Delegation from SICCAS and Representatives from QUT present on a series of topics. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Margaret Sheil and delegation from QUT visit SICCAS earlier this November. The workshop on 20th, Nov. at GP campus QUT; SICCAS Delegate visited QUT labs. QUT VC Prof. Margaret Sheil visit SICCAS Jiading Campus, Shanghai on 14th Nov, 2018. Collaboration between SICCAS and QUT began in 2009 and SICCAS is one of the key part-ners of ACCTERM. The QUT-SICCAS Joint Laboratory of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineer-ing was established in 2016. Under the leadership of Prof. Yin Xiao, Prof. Jiang Chang and Prof. Chengtie Wu , they have been successfully granted Queensland-Chinese Academy of Sciences (Q-CAS) Collaborative Science Fund, International Program of Science and Tech-nology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and co-published more than 60 journal pa-pers on Mater. Today, ACS Nano, Adv. Funct. Mater., Biomaterials, etc and 7 chapter/books. There are 8 PhD students under joint supervision of QUT and SICCAS. They are looking forward to expand and strengthen the connection in the near future.

On 21st Nov, 2018, delegation from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, East China University of Science and Technology, Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Guangzhou Medical University, Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan University visited Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) at KG campus and attended joint supervisor organized by QUT and Gibson Room, GP campus, QUT. Delegates discussed on the future resource sharing and research cooperation, and strategies for joint-supervision on HDR students.

Chinese Delegates visited ARC Training Centre-Addictive Biomanufacturing, Histology lab and PC-2 lab in IHBI guided by IHBI Senior lab technicians and researchers.
