WELCOME
Due to the natural disaster, Hurricane Sandy, we decided to rebuild homes and a community center for the town Breezy
Point.
• Breezy Point sits on a peninsula, making it vulnerable
• Susceptible to high levels of flooding, winds and spread of fire
• Goal: To use materials to prevent fire and withstand hurricanes
• The community center was created to involve everyday life and recovery in case of another disaster.

The interior revolves around the gymnasium and the cafeteria/kitchen
Kitchen and checkout counters supply the customers of the center with food
The cafeteria sits 108 people comfortably, with extra tables available as an option for the center
The gymnasium houses a regulation size basketball court
