Expectations of Parents

• Crocs: closed toe shoes that are easy for child to put on quickly and independently

• Crib sheet and small blanket if child will be napping at the school

• IXL username and password: help your child complete at least one math skill aday on www.ixl.com.

• Hooked on Phonics Reading Program (Read, Read Read!)• Homework : Sit and help complete unfinished class worksheets with your child.

Intial and date your child’s finished work and bring it back to school and file inhis/her folder.

• Communicate

Earthquake Preparedness

• Safety is the number one priority.

• All staff are CPR and First Aid certified.

• Cubby shelves & Cabinets in classroom are bolted to wall

• Batteries in the fire alarms are replaced and the fire extinguisher ischecked every 6 months.

• Fire and earthquake drill every 6 months

Indoors:

• Students stop what they are doing and move and face away from windows, shelves,and other heavy objects

• Students are directed to cover their heads and move under the nearest table

•Students count to 60 once the earth stops shaking

• Students follow the teacher outside to take attendance

Outdoors:

• Students stop what they are doing and sit on the blue mat (away from windows andunsecured objects)

• Teacher takes attendance
