◦ Facilitated professional development for departments in direct instruction, lesson study, peer observation, and cooperative groups

◦ Focused workshop topics SDAIE, direct instruction, Understanding by Design, and Cornell Notes.

◦ All professional development fell under the umbrella of rigor. Both rigor and accountable talk were introduced large group and emphasized in department meetings.

◦ CST gallery walk - Teachers shared strategies and best practices for increasing student achievement.

INTERVENTION◦ FLEX

Restructured calendar to allow for more frequent department meetings.

Assisted departments in implementing FLEX

◦ RESPONSE TO INSTRUCTION & INTERVENTION (RTI2) From the Achievement & Accountability

team, a RTI2 team was formed, and began to research programs and designs to support our students.

INCENTIVES◦ Accelerated Reader Awards, Read to

Achieve, Periodic Assessment Certificates, CST ice cream social,

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT◦ Summer PD: follow up with the goals and

the work from this time through both whole school and department venues

◦ Data collection: surveys, observations, needs assessment

◦ Differentiated PD for teachers

◦ Create benchmarks to measure the implementation of PD

INTERVENTION◦ Coordinate all intervention efforts

◦ Increase communication channels between intervention committees.

◦ Assist as necessary with grade level/department incentive programs (i.e. 6th Grade Achievement Celebration)
