4k - Section 17100, 2.14 Innerduct; during the walk through a question was asked regarding the use of armored fiber for the building runs; I believe that the answer was that it was acceptable is this correct? ANSWER: YES 4l - Section 17100, 3.01 General; item Y is any of the work to be completed under this bid; required by the customer to be preformed on an off hour or weekend basis? ANSWER: 17100, 3.01. Y DOES NOT EXIST. THE CONTRACTOR MAY ELECT TO PERFORM LABOR ON AN OFF HOUR OR WEEKEND BASIS IN ORDER TO MEET THE PROJECT SCHEDULE. 4m - Section 17100, 3.09 Cable Pathways; item G refers to spacing from electrical cable and equipment; are we to assume all cable tray and J hooks supplied and installed by the Division 16 Contractors will meet this requirement? If we find that these items have not been installed to meet these requirements; is it the responsibility of the Division 16 Contractor to correct the installation? ANSWER: YES. YES. 4n - Section 17100, 3.09 Cable Pathways; item k refers to coiled slack on installed cables Section 17100, 3.18 item b also refers to coiled slack on cable. There is conflicting amounts of slack required by these sections which is correct? ANSWER: 3.09 K 4o - Section 17100, 3.18 Copper Cabling Systems; item D refers to maximum number of cables for J Hooks (30); are you referring to CAT32 and CAT64 for this requirement? If you are referring to CAT32 only what is the maximum amount allowable in the CAT64? ANSWER: 17100 3.18 . D DOES NOT REFER TO J-HOOKS. 4p - Section 17100, 3.21 Identification; item C; sub sections a, b, h and i. The items referenced were installed by the Division 16 Contractor. Who is responsible for the labeling? ANSWER: The Division 16 Contractor is responsible for labeling work installed under Div 16. The Division 17 Contractor is responsible for labeling work installed under Div 17. 5a - At the mandatory pre-bid meeting I raised the question regarding the current installation schedule of the ceiling grid and pads. We were advised that a schedule would be sent via addendum and as of today we have received no such schedule. As you are aware the installation of ceiling pads will affect the productivity of the data system installation and will have a cost impact to the project, therefore if we are to include these costs in our bid we will need further direction. Who is responsible for the removal and reinstallation of ceiling pads? ANSWER: PADS WILL NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL JANUARY. ALL CABLING ABOVE THE CEILING SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE THAT TIME. 5b - Identify the areas where ceiling grid is currently installed. ANSWER: BY OCTOBER 1, 2007 THE ENTIRE BUILDING SHOULD HAVE GRID.

5c - Identify the areas where ceiling pads are currently installed. ANSWER: CEILING PADS ARE NOT INSTALLED 5d - Provide a detailed schedule for the installation of grid work and pads for areas not yet installed. Is there sufficient time to install the data system and stay ahead of the ceiling contractor, given the bid date of September 12th, 1-2 weeks for award,2-3 weeks for submittal approval? ANSWER: ALL GRID COMPLETED BY OCTOBER 2007. CEILING PADS COMPLETED BY FEBRUARY 2008 5e - In areas where we remove ceiling tiles can they be left open or do they need to be closed on a daily basis? ANSWER: NOT APPLICABLE 5f – Whose (SIC) schedule will prevail and will they modify the ceiling contractors schedule to allow us proper time to install the data system. ANSWER: CEILING CONTRACTORS SCHEDULE WILL NOT BE ALTERED 5g - Who is responsible for damages and what procedure will there be in place to verify the contractor responsible for damaged tiles. ANSWER: THE TELECOM CONTRACTOR SHOULD DOCUMENT THE CONDITION OF THE CEILING GRID PRIOR TO STARTING WORK. THE TELECOM CONTRACTOR WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY DAMAGE TO CEILING GRID CAUSED BY THEM. 5h - Are we to assume that the entire project will have finished ceilings and tiles? ANSWER: YES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BASEMENT AND LECTURE HALL. 6 - Section 17100, 3.15 Cable Supports; item D refers to maximum number of cables for J Hooks (30); are you referring to CAT32 and CAT64 for this requirement? If you are referring to CAT32 only what is the maximum amount allowable in the CAT64? ANSWER: The Quantity of Thirty (30) refers to CAT21 with a CAT6 Cable. CAT32 = 50 ea. CAT6 Cables and CAT64 = 185 ea. CAT6 Cables 7a - Drawing T201 shows the fiber feed from Webb Hall entering room 182. Is the feed from Webb hall being terminated in room 182 as a cross connect point or is it passing through to the MER G37 ANSWER: CROSS CONNECT POINT - ADJUST FIBER PATCH PANEL AS REQUIRED TO TERMINATE ALL FIBERS. 7b - If the fiber is passing through to MER G37 is riser rated indoor/outdoor fiber acceptable? ANSWER: NO PASS THROUGH. HOWEVER INDOOR/OUTDOOR MAY BE USED FOR OSP.

7c - During the walk through the over all length of the OSP copper and fiber optic cable was discussed; I believe a figure of 250 was to be added for the OSP cable runs is this correct? ANSWER: THE DISTANCE TO WEB IS 300 AND THE DISTANCE TO THE LIBRARY IS 1250' (NOT 1000' AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS) ADD TO THE DISTANCE SERVICE LOOPS AS CALLED FOR IN THE SPECIFICATION. 8 - Section 17100 2.10, 1 b Backbone cabling system (Pair calculation) I wanted to clarify the spare cable count. Closet X has 31 voice cables; you want two pairs of conductors for each voice cable (4 conductors). Total pairs needed for 31 voice cables (4 x 31) = 124 pairs. Provide an additional 30% spare; Would that be 30% of the station cable count (31) times (4 conductors) 9.3 x 4 = 38 pairs. Total pairs for closet 124 + 38 = 162 or 200 pair Or B. Would it be 30% of the required pairs (124) times (4 conductors) 37.20 x 4 = 149 Total pairs for closet 124 + 149 = 273 or 300 pair ANSWER: TO SIMPLIFY THE PAIR COUNT QUESTION THE OWNER REQUESTS THE FOLLOWING PAIR COUNT: SER ROOMS 182, 273 379 & 465 CHANGE TO 200 PAIR. ALL OTHER CLOSETS REMAIN AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. ADJUST PUNCH DOWN BLOCKS IN MER TO ACCOMMODATE ADDITIONAL CAPACITY. DISREGARD ANSWER 4i. ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS REMAIN THE SAME.

CONTENTS OF ADDENDUM #2 ITEM #1) Refer to page 2 of 8 Form Of Proposal Supplemental Bid #1:

Change one thousand (1,000) feet of outside plant fiber to one thousand three hundred (1,300) feet of outside plant fiber. The three hundred (300) feet of outside plant fiber from the New Science Building to Webb Hall remains the same.

ITEM #2) Refer to page 2 of 8 Form Of Proposal Supplemental Bid #2: Change one thousand (1,000) feet of outside plant copper to one thousand three hundred (1,300) feet of outside plant fiber. The three hundred (300) feet of outside plant copper from the New Science Building to Webb Hall remains the same.

All bidders must have a DAS Prequalification Certificate prior to the bid opening The winning bidder must have their Affirmative Action Plan approved by CHRO PRIOR to entering into a contract with CSUS.
