ISCTE-IUL ACM Student Chapter is a group of
undergraduate and graduated students that
promotes activities. The activities cover various
fields: computer science, software engineering,
and information systems. All the events take
place in the university campus at ISCTE-IUL in
Lisbon, Portugal.
SmartTalks SmartClasses SmartEvents
SmartTalks are meetings with practitioners (e.g.
Computer engineers, computer scientists, web
developers, and data scientists), about new
trends and technologies related to information
technologies.
SmartClasses are master or PhD classes open
to the community, specially focused in
research related to information technologies
(e.g. IOT, Cloud Computing, Robotics).
SmartEvents are events where several invited
speakers participate in an event more formal
than the SmartTalk. Some of the SmartEvents
corresponds to commemorative days.
Future ActivitiesIn the near, the chapter expect to promote the
following activities:
• SmartHour – an informal meeting to
promote students networking.
• SmartMooc – eLearning platform and
content with the purpose of supporting
students in introduction to programming.
• SmartTalks (Meeting with practitioners)
• SmartClasses (Open Master Lessons)
• SmartEvents (Event with several
practitioners)

E-learning Platform Board
EuroSIGDOC is the ACM SIGDOC European chapter.
SIGDOC is the Association for Computing
Machinery’s Special Interest Group (SIG) on the
Design of Communication (DOC). EuroSIGDOC is a
group of researchers and practitioners wanting to
pursue the SIGDOC mission in a European context.
EuroSIGDOC focuses on the design of
communication as it is taught, practiced,
researched, and conceptualized in various fields,
including technical communication, software
engineering, information architecture and usability.
