ACO ShowerDrain
Q Plus and C Line shower solutions
offer a design statement in homes,
spas, casinos and boutique hotels,
as well as a more pragmatic use
in hospitals, aged care facilities or
applications where access, corrosion
resistance or hygiene is a major
concern.
Q Plus products offer the most cost
effective option to bring this unique
drain design to a wider audience.
Products are suitable for traditional
shower design and also allow the
elimination of physical barriers
within the bathroom floor for a
contemporary look and comply with
universal design concepts.
The ACO ShowerDrain product line is
segmented into two different product
types:
1. Shower ChannelsChoice of materials
Choice of lengths
Choice of 4 grate styles
2. Point DrainsChoice of 3 grate styles

The ACO Group
Established in 1946, the ACO Group is
a leading manufacturer of products
for the construction and building
industry.
The Group operates globally, with
companies in more than 44 countries
and manufacturing on four continents.
Worldwide, ACO employs more than
5,000 people and has sales in excess
of $1 billion annually. ACO expanded
into North America in 1978 and ACO
Systems, Ltd. was established in 2006.
ACO Building Drainage
ACO offers drainage systems designed
to protect your business and the
environment. The stainless steel
drainage products in the Building
Drainage product line are designed
for ultimate hygienic performance,
ensuring health & safety of workers,
customers and products while still
allowing clean-in-place functionality.

Affordable shower drainage option with style
Quality materialsAffordability should not compromise quality; components utilize the materials expertise of the ACO Group.
Linear Q Plus Shower Channels - injection molded ABS body with stainless steel grates.
Linear C Line Shower Channels - stainless steel body with stainless steel grates, available with attached waterproof membrane.
Square Point Drains - injection molded ABS body with stainless steel grates. Tile cover is injection molded ABS.
HEEL RESISTANT - ASME: A112.6.3 : Section 7.12 Heel Resistant Strainers & Grates
A grate designed to resist entry of heeled shoes, in which the maximum grate hole size in least dimension shall be 8 mm (0.31")
ADA REQUIREMENTS are set out in The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; Section 4.5.4.
Where grates are used within walking surfaces, the open slots should be no greater than 12.7 mm (0.5") wide in one direction. Where the length of the slot is greater than 0.5", the opening should run perpendicular to the main direction of traffic.
Standard compliant
Ease of installationLinear shower channels enable simple floor grades and easier tile layout. Leveling feet ensure unit remains level during install.
Easy plumbing connections:1. Q Plus is supplied with a solvent weld ABS threaded unit if needed.
2. C Line is supplied with a 50 mm (2") stainless steel clad no hub coupling for flange body use.
3. Square point drains are supplied with a solvent weld ABS threaded unit for use with CPE membrane couplings/ drain flashing.

Point drain positioned within bathroom and shower channel within shower area. Level floors can be utilized as Point drain will drain any overflow from shower.
One-way slope towards wall creates possible risk of bypass – slope of bathroom floor towards shower is recommended to prevent bypass. Channel length should fit shower opening.
One-way slope - towards wall - no risk of bypass.
Point drain positioned within shower area. Floors must be graded appropriately or other barriers used to prevent water flow into bathroom.
Technical & planning considerations
ACO Showerdrain channels have an outflow up to 0.85 L/S (13.5 GPM). This value assumes no head of water above top of grate.
ACO Showerdrain Point drains have an outflow of up to 0.85 L/S (13.5 GPM).
The addition of a grate can throttle the intake of water into the channel body and slow the flow of water to the outlet.
Note:The premium QuARTz range of shower channels offers a custom solution if required.
Accumulation and slopesCSA B79.08 (R2013) requires a 50 mm (2") outlet for shower applications. ACO shower drain channels have this as standard. The flow for a 50 mm (2") outlet varies depends upon the head of water above the grating.
In the case of shower channels, a head of water is not typical in practice—due to shallow floor grades. Point drains can have a head of water due to ‘basin’ profile of the floor.
Flow values without accumulation (head of water) should be used when shower channels are placed around the perimeter of the shower and no shower threshold step used.
If shower channel is installed against a wall, or in a valley (2 way slope), there may be a small amount of accumulation (head of water) depending—on the layout of the shower area. Grade of shower floor will determine depth of accumulation.
Outflow performanceChoice of shower channel generally depends on the flow values of the shower heads. 70% of shower heads have a maximum capacity of less than 0.19 L/S (3 GPM).
