Optimum solutionACO ParkDrain is a one piece polymer concrete

drainage system which has been designed as the

optimum solution for a wide range of surface

drainage applications requiring Load Class C 250

    installations.

Lower costsIt has been specifically designed to reduce

installation time and provide inexpensivemaintenance over its whole life.

It offers cost advantages for architects, engineers,

    contractors and clients.

Open-minded innovationACO ParkDrain is the result of over 30 years

    development of innovative surface drainage

solutions for highways, local authority, retail,

    commercial and domestic users.

Standards complianceACO ParkDrain has been certificated to Load Class

C 250 (BS EN 1433:2002) and BS EN 124:1994 for

    gully and access units.

Contact ACO Technical Department for standards

details and copies of Load Test certificates.

    Benefits for specifiers

One piece design means no separate gratingspecifications

Colour choice to match location - black(asphalt) as standard, other colours availableto order e.g. white and yellow (lines andmarkings), buff/beige (standard paving),red (brick paviours) etc.

Simplified level and stepped system for quickscheme design

    Benefits for contractors

Simple scheme layouts with level invert units

Easy to achieve excellent watertightness(to BS EN 1433:2002) with sealing groove

Light weight (typically 16 - 20 kg/unit) foreasy one man lift enables compliance withHealth and Safety guidelines

    Benefits for clients

Integral unit without separate grating styletop eliminates lost or damaged gratings

Unobtrusive, self-coloured grating maintainsappearance and colour with time

Rodding access units and sumps with separatelocking resin composite grating, allows easymaintenance

    Resin concrete unaffected by frost

No removable gratings makes system suitablefor schools and play grounds

    Introducing

ACO Mini ParkDrain:ACO Mini ParkDrain is a one piece polymer

concrete drainage system suitable for applications

with restricted installation depths. The system is

suitable for a wide range of drainage applications

requiring Load Class D 400 installations.

This system is not designed for highway use where

it can be trafficked by fast moving vehicles.

Lower installation costsACO Mini ParkDrain is lightweight and available in

1 metre length, aiding fast and simple installations.

Standards complianceACO Mini ParkDrain has been certificated and

CE marked to Load Class D 400 BS EN 1433:2002.

Free technical supportTo support architects, engineers and contractors

in designing and installing ACO ParkDrain and

ACO Mini ParkDrain schemes, ACOs Design

    Services Team offers computer-aided scheme

    design, hydraulic performance calculations and

    installation advice services.

    1. Constant invert, level ground

    - effective drainage but may need more regularmaintenance due to greater chance of silting.

    2. Constant invert, sloped ground

    - improved hydraulic capacity over system 1.

    3. Stepped invert, level ground

    - will give a similar hydraulic capacity tosystem 2.

ACO ParkDrain is the next generation of surface

drainage with major advantages in car parks,

    pedestrianised areas and hard-landscaped locations.

Its one piece design with integral grating means

it is not vulnerable to vandalism or loosening.

Rodding Access units and the universal Sump unit

    ensure easy maintenance.

It is a product especially recommended to be

used in schools where children play due to its

monoblock composition it has no removable partswhich could lead to injury.

Its Load Class C 250 certification means it can be

deployed in a wide number of locations where

light vehicle traffic can be expected.

Its unique colouring means it can either be

unobtrusively blended with its surroundings - e.g.

coloured as the adjoining pavement - or used as a

marker or even signage e.g. coloured white or

yellow to mark roads. The colour is maintained,

no rubbing off or being dissolved.

It is compatible with all types of paving materials,

and the flat sides enable pavements to be laid

    directly to the units edge.

    ACO Mini ParkDrain

Complementing the range, ACO Mini ParkDrain is

specifically designed to provide a drainage solution

for small drainage areas and applications that have

    restricted depth installation.

The maximum catchment depth drained by the

channel may be derived from the tables.

    For total flow Q (l/s); Catchment Depth CD (m);

Length of channel to outlet Lo (m); Rainfall

    intensity i (l/s/m2)

    Then Q = CD x Lo x i. Hence CD = Q / (Lo x i)

    SITEWORK INSTALLATION

    1.0 Ground Conditions

The customer should ensure thatthe minimum dimensions shownare suitable for the existingground conditions. Engineering

    advice may be necessary.

    2.0 Block Pavements

The channel must be supportedlaterally and therefore blocks

must be restrained frommovement by bedding securelye.g. by using a Polymer ModifiedMortar for bed and perpendicularjoints (for example RONAFIXMortar Mix C from Ronacrete: Tel01279 638 700). Engineering

    advice may be required.

    3.0 Surface Cracks

Alternate crack control andmovement joints transverselywithin bed and haunch may

    reduce unsightly surface cracking.

    4.0 Joint Sealant

Where ACO Drain channel jointsand fittings are to be sealed(where used in foul waterapplications or whereimpermeability is required)contact a sealant specialist forguidance on the most appropriatesealing compound to use.

    5.0 Surface Protection

In asphalt pavements avoidcontact between compactionequipment and channel/grating.This may be achieved by ensuringthat the finished surface level liesabove the grating level (by atleast 3mm) Stones should beremoved prior to laying/rollingwearing course.
