3-2-8 paragraphs
• One of our rules at Rise and Shine Elementary is to Be Respectful which means to: respect self, others, and property. Respecting ourselves means getting enough sleep so we are prepared for the day. It also means preparing by studying and having everything we need at school. Respecting others is probably the most important rule to follow. We need to remember the golden rule and treat others as we would like to be treated. Finally, respecting property means taking care of what is ours. We pick up our own trash and remind others to do likewise. Being respectful is an important part of being a Rise and Shine student.

Three ‘s and a Wish
• Three things I did well today:– I respected my neighbor by raising
my hand to speak and waiting to be called on.
– I respected myself by getting enough sleep last night so I was ready for the day.
– I respected property by putting my trash in the proper bins.
![Page 15: Act One Add the subtitle here Incorporating PBIS into the Curriculum Laura A. Riffel, Ph.D](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022062714/56649d135503460f949e6a59/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Three ‘s and a Wish
• One thing I wish had gone better today:– I wish Johnny hadn’t called me “dodo”
head on the playground. That wasn’t respectful of me.

Gotcha Count
• Write math story problems using the number of gotcha’s given in the school.
• We have given 7,897 gotchas so far this year. We have 415 students. What is the average number of gotchas given per student?
19
![Page 18: Act One Add the subtitle here Incorporating PBIS into the Curriculum Laura A. Riffel, Ph.D](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022062714/56649d135503460f949e6a59/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Survey
• Have a class survey everyone to find out how many gotchas they think they have received this year.
• Graph the gotchas by grade level and post in the hallway.
• This will be a great reminder to the adults to give more gotchas.

"Waiting On The World To Change"
Me and all my friends We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything that's going wrong With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means To rise above and beat it
So we keep waiting Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting Waiting on the world to change
It's hard to beat the system When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting Waiting on the world to change
Now if we had the power To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh They can bend it all they want
That's why we're waiting Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting Waiting on the world to change
It's not that we don't care, We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting Waiting on the world to change
And we're still waiting Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting Waiting on the world to change
