EXAMPLE: Students participate in aschool partnership program with asister school in another country byhosting a visiting student. Beforetheir arrival, students usecommunication tools such as Skypeand email to introduce themselves.The host students create a simplesurvey that the exchange studentscomplete to determine which localattractions or locations they might befamiliar with. Based on the results ofthe survey, the host students thenprepare an itinerary for the exchangestudents that includes a variety ofcultural and historical activities whichallow the exchange students to gainunique insights into American culture. EXAMPLE: Students organize aschool-wide service project partneringwith an international aid organizationto assist a school in another country.Students use the Internet to locate aschool in the country thencommunicate directly with thestudents at that school about theirspecific needs. Students then designand carry out a project to acquire theitems the students need and sendthem to the school. Students engagein follow-up conversations with thestudents in the school to determinewhat impact the supplies had on thestudents there. (Interpersonal)
