The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create
a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end, the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging
programs of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that
other people, with their differences, can also be right.

What is Action and Service?
Action and Service in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) involves three central elements:
AWARENESS
Awareness of what a community is and awareness of the complexities of a community and its different forms.
INVOLVEMENT THROUGH SERVICE
Involvement through service in terms of community involvement and being an active contributor – including showing willingness and the skills to respond to the needs of others, coming up with solutions to actively resolve issues within communities.
REFLECTION
Reflection encourages better awareness of needs as well as the quality of response.
As an IB school, MXIS emphasizes the importance of responsible, thoughtful attitudes towards service to our local, national and global communities. MXIS aims to offer all students the opportunity and the power to choose their actions, to act on them, and to reflect on them in order to make a difference in the world. As part of the MYP curriculum, all students are required to be involved in Action & Service activities.

Reflections should be documented in A&S Seesaw. Reflections should be submitted at least a week after the activity was done.
