MALWEST project

• “Integrated surveillance and control programme for West Nile virus and malaria in Greece”

• National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013

• Co-funded by Greece and the EU through the Greek Ministry of Health

• Duration: 01/01/2012 – 31/12/2013 o Extension: 31/12/2014 for two actions (survey on mosquito trap and malaria

surveillance in Regional Unit of Lakonia)

• Aim development of an Integrated Control programme related to WNV(surveillance for human cases, mosquito surveillance, avian surveillance, and equine surveillance) and malaria (surveillance for human cases, mosquito surveillance).

• Stratification of Greece in four risk levels for malaria (0, 1, 2, 3)
