Predictive Services Discussion: The unusually large, hot ridge of high pressure over the West and Great

Plains will continue to intensify. Hot conditions are expected across most of the west along with scattered

thunderstorms. Humidity levels will generally be very low except across the southern Great Basin and the

Southwest where monsoonal flow will keep conditions muggy. Scattered showers and storms are expected

across the Southeast as a cold front slowly drifts southward into the Deep South. In Alaska, the ridge of high

pressure over the interior will begin to flatten as a disturbance moves east along the Arctic Coast. Isolated

showers and storms will be possible across the Brooks Range and the Alaska Range.
