optimisation of retail store space

Retail Smart has extensive experience of retail space planning for a number of major retail clients in the UK and Europe.

Whether you require a complete new store layout design or minor alterations, our systems and services will help you develop projects from

concept to completion.

Our software, training, expertise and support constitute a macro storeplanning solution which provides high quality store planning.

Created by shop fitting and retail space planning experts, this systemmay be used by those with or without CAD experience.

Store specific plans enable you to maximise the position, performanceand layout of product categories on new and existing store designs. This enables you to manage multiple departments and floor levels or

stores concurrently.

For increased efficiency; fixtures and departments can be quickly added and replaced with the added resource of hierachical library’s making

any changes...a simple task.

Util ising your existing CAD plans, store planning import facility can make use of your architectural engineers drawings as templates for space and category-oriented store planning.

Once planning and store design is complete, store planning can export newly designed plans back to the engineering

department in CAD format - saving time with no duplication of work. Store planners will benefit from the expertise of engineers who have

extensive knowledge of systems such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStationfor the store's architectural layout without having to performmerchandising work in a CAD-based software environment.

3D VisualisationRetail Smart’s proven store planning process ensures improved store

performance by assisting the management team in developing accuratefully co-ordinated store layouts. With stores efficiently planned, the

objective of tracking and improving performance (by regularly reviewingand adjusting space allocations at macro store level) throughout the

store chain is achievable.

Our solution delivers high impact reports allowing you to perform cross-category and cross-store analysis. Powerful space verses salesanalysis combines sales data linked with departmental and category

space allocations. These reports and analysis enable the re-allocating ofspace accurately during the re-planning process, optimising category

and store profits and sales.Furthermore; store comparison reports help identify both high and low

performing stores critical to maximising selling space. The added capability of modelling a number of “what if” scenario’s will also comparethe impact of various store, category or department layouts. – enabling

you to then deploy the best option.

Understanding how each section or category performs is key to evaluating the performance of the store as a whole. Hotspot analysis displays an instant view onscreen of category performance by way ofcolour highlights. By combining performance data for each category

(e.g. sales values, relative unit movement and profit), a “Key PerformanceIndicator” (KPI) will be generated. This single performance measure (KPI)

represents the contribution of each category to the overall store success.

Libraries of functional fixtures and fittings, departments and store areasserve as an ongoing resource for planning processes and are easilymaintained. Accurate calculations of new stores or refits including fixtures, fittings and materials may be modelled and budgetted

accordingly. Our experience has shown that by the use of such libraries, fixture and fittings wastage is reduced dramatically.

The ability to produce dynamic 3D visualisations of the merchandiseddisplay helps in the overall decision-making process and shows

the retailer how customers will experience a new layout.
