Weekly Planner Meet the Team Bodyguards

Our BodyGuards team are here to facilitate all of your fitness needs. From morning walks to BodySPIN MAX or The Body Stretch, to one to one personal training in the gym. The team will assist, encourage, motivate and entertain you during the day whilst at night they can be found hosting tables in the restaurant, enjoying the company of our guests and even tripping the light fandango on the clubhouse dance floor. Say “hi” if you see the team around the resort, especially if you need any help or assistance - they will be more than happy to oblige.

Communal Dining table

The communal dining table, located in Cariblue and the Pavilion Grill, is there for your convenience. If you wish to join the Bodyguards hosting the evening, they are available in the Piano Bar from 7:00 pm for pre-dinner drinks. Hosting tables are reserved for 7:45pm & 8:15pm.

Important Note! Please remember to wear fitness attire including your Trainers at all times for

Fitness Classes and when using the Gym. Also, Jeans, cut-offs, Bermuda shorts,

and bathing suits are not suitable, nor are boat or flat non-supportive shoes

(flip flops). Your safety is important to us.

Heart Rate Intensity Scale: Please note this heart rate intensity scale is simply a guide. All classes will provide options throughout:

A no or very low intensity workout

Low intensity class ideal for total beginners to cardio exercise

A medium intensity

Medium intensity with higher intensity options

High intensity workout

Please be advised that class times may be subject to change, therefore

we recommend that you refer to the activities board located in the

Clubhouse on a daily basis for any changes or additional activities.

Group Exercise Class Type Our group exercise classes are categorised as; “Mind & Body” and “Fitness & Tone”.

Mind & Body includes any holistic class that will combine both physical exer-

cise and stretching with awareness of the mind. Generic benefits of these clas-ses are; decreased stress, increased flexibility plus improvement of abdominal core strength.

Fitness & Tone includes all our physical classes. Many of these classes will be

choreographed to upbeat music and will require trainers/sneakers. The generic benefits of these classes will be improved cardiovascular system and stronger firmer muscles. All of our Fitness & Tone classes will provide a range of levels to suit your current fitness level.

Mind & Body Classes (Please Find Separate Holistic Booklet)

Mind & Body Yoga: A physical journey to stretch, strengthen and align the whole body, designed to connect body, mind and spirit. Key benefits are; focused mental state, improved energy, posture and flexibility. (Yoga takes many forms and styles, please see activities team for details on the specific class). (Intensity of class will vary with the type of Yoga, please ask for details)

Mind & Body – Pilates: A series of floor exercises that stabilize and strengthen the stomach, back and buttock muscles. Benefits include; improved core strength, posture, co-ordination and more. Pila-

tes can be ideal in the aid of treating some injuries such as lower back fatigue.

Mind & Body - Tai Chi: A Chinese system of physical exercises designed especially for self-defense and meditation.

If you want to improve any aspect of your health, our BodyAware programme can provide you with an effective solution that best supports you. Whether your goals are for weight loss, weight gain, to tone up, correct your posture or you want to recover and prevent injury, the BodyAware programme will help to achieve and maintain your goals. Mike Snader is the Nutritionist and Body

Aware Specialist for The BodyHoliday LeSport. He

holds multiple nationally recognized personal training

certifications including a 500 hour Personal Training and Nutritional Consultation certifica-

tion and diploma from the National Personal Training Institute in Philadelphia, PA. The only

advanced training and nutrition program that is recognized by the Pennsylvania Board of

Education. He has been hands on in the health and wellness industry for over 10 years and

has held positions as a Personal Trainer, Wellness Coach, and Senior Manager of a large

fitness facility based in the US. In addition to his professional career Mike has also volun-

teered to organize and direct 5K running races to benefit charities, and has been invited to

speak at numerous influential Wellness Summits and Seminars. During his free time he en-

joys writing health related articles and has been a published author on various top fitness

websites that contribute to popular magazines such as Men’s Health and Women’s Fitness.

LILY ESLAHJOU

LILY ESLAHJOU BIO: Lily started Yoga in 1999 and has been teaching for over 12 years. Lily's back-ground in competitive swimming, passion for snowboarding and surfing drew her to the more vigorous style of Yoga, Ashtanga. Her training began with Iyengar and moved onto other styles of Yoga. Lily has studied with various renowned teachers from all over the world and has also traveled to Mysore, India to study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. Lily loves to teach not only many styles of Yoga but is also certified in Pilates. Her knowledge of Yoga, Pilates and anatomy ensures that a detailed explanation of correct alignment principles are woven throughout her instructions and she brings an energetic yet lighthearted approach to her classes. Lily teaches many varia-tions to each pose, her classes suit all levels.

Benefits of Yoga: The ancient and still timeless practice of Yoga aims to unite the body, mind and spirit benefitting one’s overall health and wellbeing. The flow of postures (asanas) promotes the strengthening and flexibility of the whole body. The sequence of asanas also promotes increased concentration, conscious breathing, and is beneficial in relieving stress and tension. The benefits of Yoga are ineffable. It is only through a regular dedicated practice that one can realize, learn and appreciate the benefits of Yoga.

Lily and Yoga: Lily’s personal practice is Ashtanga based, a mix of primary and second series. Lily teaches various styles of Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Hatha and Pre-natal. These sessions break free from the rules and methods of Ashtanga and allows her teachings to be more inspired, creative and flexible. She caters her teaching sessions to the varied levels of her students, in a safe and challenging way, yet maintaining a lightness and fun

attitude which is appreciated by her many students.

Yoga Classes & Descriptions

Pilates: Pilates class level 1 and level 2 offered at TBH, a body conditioning routine where you will build muscle strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. The focus in these sessions will include spinal alignment, pelvic stability, breathing, improving coordination and balance. Modifications are taught for all exercises, beginners welcome. Hatha: This class is typically a gentle style of yoga and slow-paced best for beginners. In this class you will learn basic alignment principles, simple breathing exercises and meditation. Ashtanga: Also known as Power Yoga, this practice incorporates an intense flow of postures to build strength of body and mind. Ashtanga is both for those who have been practicing for a while and for those who do not have a regular practice that like a challenge and fast paced class. This flow helps to increase concentration, flexibility and strength. Variations are taught for each posture to suit students of all levels. Vinyasa: This class will focus on linking breath to movement, each class is focused on fluid transitions between poses. Your request is appreciated as Lily can organize a se-quence of poses to suit your needs; be it for shoulders, hips, low back and whatever your needs are that day! This class promotes a proper balance of strength, endurance and flexibility. Fluid Flow Yoga: This session is taught with music where you will flow from one pose to the next. A dynamic session taught to connect to the fluidity in the body with minimal static postures. Suited to all levels. Happy Hips: This session is suited for all levels, you will experience a sequence that in-cludes various Yoga and Pilates exercises to mobilize and open the hips and will end with ‘resting’ positions to release tension in the hips, you will walk away with a pain free back and loose but stable hips. What is Bowen Therapy: The Bowen Technique is a non-invasive, hands-on modality that has for the last 20 years become the treatment of choice for people world-wide. Bowen can be administered through light clothing, with the client standing, sitting or lying. Gentle moves performed primarily with fingers and thumbs over tendons, liga-ments, muscles and soft tissue on specific points on the body help to release stress on a deep level and stimulate the body to realign. There are pauses throughout the session to allow the body to respond and begin the healing process. Results are noticeable after the first session and often only a few sessions are required to correct the presenting prob-lem. Bowen Therapy is a whole body therapy. OTHER: Bowen Therapy is a treatment for injuries in the body. It is NOT a form of exercise. Clients rest on a massage table and walk away pain free.

ing as a yoga instructor and wellness consultant for seven years in various well-ness centers in India. Her goal is to train the human body on how to improve

Hirudhaya Yoga - for Healthy Heart Cardio vascular yoga is good for type-A personalities and helps relieve stress,

Prana Yoga or Pranayama Pranayama or Breathing Exercise promotes proper breathing which can bring

Katti Yoga - for Hip & Spine

Dr. Alan is a neuromusculoskeletal specialist who practices himself what he recommends

to his patients, and that is first and foremost, prevention. Basic, full body stretching, focus-ing on passive, simple moves that relieve tight muscles, loosen stiff joints, increase range of motion and flexibility, and improve blood flow are key. The BodyHoliday isn’t just about improving the skills you already have but also about discovering new passions to fill your well earned time off. If your activity based leisure time has always been on land then this is the perfect place to take to the waves. We understand that our extensive list of water based activities will only serve to clog up your weekly planner (see back of booklet) further but for those of you looking to enjoy something new in the great outdoors then visiting the water sports hut should definitely be on the agenda. If taming mother nature to get the most out of your sheet sail is what you are looking for, then our windsurfing and sailing lessons would be the first step in the process. All sailing equipment are conveniently available upon request and at any time during operating hours. However, our team must first assess your ability to go out alone. If a little adrenaline is more your style then you have waterskiing, wake boarding or even mono-skiing to first learn, and then perfect, during our daily sessions of each. Finally are our polar opposites—kayaking and tubing. Kayaking is a great way for one or two persons to look around Cariblue Bay and see the surrounds from the sea. You can glide or power around as is your want. Tubing on the other hand is an entirely different way to enjoy the Bay. With two of you each in a tube (a doughnut shaped inflatable) our boat

driver will pull you around the Bay at speed to set the heart racing and, more often than not, the vocal chords yelling. The BodyHoliday’s version of a fairground ride is nothing but fun. One last thing to mention are our swimming lessons available daily and on request. If you are looking to learn how to swim or simply how to improve your ability in the water then our trained swimming coach can take you in the water, analyse your stroke and make the adjustments needed.

For the sailing enthusiast who loves a challenge, sailing as a group with friends or family a sailing experience. Our “Hobie 16” will be the perfect choice. You have the option of being the captain, otherwise our experienced instructors can sail you to Smugglers Cove or even the Rodney Bay area. Surf Ski kayak Glide effortlessly through the ocean on one of our surf ski Kayaks. If you have tried fun kayaks before don’t pass up the opportunity to try the surf skis. You can begin with our practice sessions and then join us on our kayak tour to Pigeon Island where you can take in some historical sites and glide through the clear waters of the Caribbean sea.

Diving and Snorkeling at the Pitons Visit our Scuba Department for details of our weekday dive sites. These range from the close proximity of Pigeon Island to the beauty and tranquility of the Piton marine reserve (pictured) just outside of Soufriere in the South of St Lucia. You can enjoy a single tank dive but the best way to go is with a two tank dive taking in both reefs at Anse Cochon (Bay of Pigs) and the Piton reserve. On your way to the southern dive sites you’ll see the Caribbean coast line of the island with the grandiose houses and some of the smaller resorts peppered along the hillsides. A fantastic way to see the island. Every Thursday the scuba department runs a snorkeling trip to the Pitons. Leaving after breakfast and returning for lunch it is a great way to spend a morn-ing off resort, see the sights, marvel at the Volcanic Pitons and snorkel above St Lucia’s finest coral reef. “Please take note of the following: 1. Divers who haven’t dived in a year or more will be required to complete a refresher

or tune up before dives. 2. Night Dives/Night Snorkel We are lucky to have the coral reef just off shore at Cariblue beach so it only takes

minutes to be on site where you can see sting-rays, crabs, eagle-rays, octopus, Spanish lobsters, squid, starfish and puffers just to name a few. Night time wonders can also include “Bioluminescence” a reaction that occurs within certain types of plankton (microscopic sea creatures) that causes them to emit light when they are moved. This phenomenon can occur in both cold and warm water, at different times of the year. When bioluminescence is present, you can turn your light off and wave your arm through the water and see these flashes of light outlining your

hand.

The Scuba Team invites you every Monday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm for an afternoon of “bottom fishing” on our 34’ dive Pi-

To date, in excess of 25 varieties of these magnificent mammals have been spotted in our waters whether they are feeding, mating, frolicking with their calves or just “cooling” out in our refreshing Caribbean waters, is surely a magical and unforgettable experience! The most frequently sighted of the whales are the, Sperm (45ft), the Pilot (20ft) and the Humpback (60ft). Occasionally, the Orcas (Killer Whale 30ft). Spinners can be seen leaping playfully several yards into the air, whilst spinning up to seven times. Amazing!!

The tennis courts are open from 6:00am to 10:00pm. However, court

reservations are required and can be arranged at Concierge before 8:00am on

weekdays and 9:00am on weekends, or at the activities desk at any other time.

Tennis lessons are available to all without needing to sign up and are set at in-

troductory and intermediate levels. For the lesson times please see the

timetable that makes up the second half of this booklet.

Private Tennis Lessons

Additional half hour and one hour individual tennis lessons are available

between 8:00am and 9:00am and 11:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday. On Sat-

urdays from 8:00am - 2:00 pm. For prices and more information including book-

ing please speak to the activities desk. (Booking must be at least 24 hours in

advance).

Please remember to wear Tennis attire including your Tennis Trainers at all

times. Jeans, cut-offs, Bermuda shorts, vests, bathing suits and bicycle shorts

are not suitable, nor are Jogging, ridged and black soled, boat or flat non-

supportive shoes (flip flops).

two types of sports massage, Before Activities to improve muscle flexibility, range of motion and increases performance levels (a quick, fast and invigorative

massage), and After Activities to relieve muscle soreness and increase sports

recovery time (deep, strong massage). Remedial massage; focuses on damaged muscles, ligaments and joints. It is

recommended for individuals who experience constant pain or chronic patterns of tension and sustained physical injuries. Very effective with sciatic nerve problem,

low back problems, frozen shoulder/s, whiplash… MLD-Manual Lymphatic Drainage ; very light form of massage but very pow-

ing, stretches and joint rotations. Shiatsu's goal is to restore the healthy flow of

energy throughout the body.

Introducing Bei Yin Structural Integration Specialist

Formerly a corporate lawyer, Bei’s decision to become a Structural Integration practitioner emerged from her own body’s transformation through receiving the practice. Structural Integration relieved Bei of constant gnawing pain, replacing it with a sense of ease, wellbeing and liveliness. Bei’s personal experience feeds her passion and talent in helping others clear away deep-set patterns of physical discomfort and pain. Bei has worked with clients with a wide range of issues (e.g. sports injuries, migraines, chronic neck, back, knee and hip pain, TMJ, etc.) and has helped them feel “energetic, renewed, freer, more grounded and present”. Structural Integration: Structural Integration is based on the idea that the entire structural order of the body needs to be realigned and balanced around a "central vertical line" representing gravity's influence. Structural integration therapy is largely made up of a massage technique called Rolfing. This technique, named in honor of its creator, Dr. Ida P. Rolf, centers around manipulation of soft tissues within the body in order to create freer, safer, more efficient move-ment through better posture and overall balance of all bodily sys-tems. In many ways it is similar to myofascial release.

Quadrathlon (NEW): Leave LeSPORT by mountain bike and ride a 10 km wild challenging dirt trail to

the Atlantic beaches of Donkey Beach, and Cotton Bay. From there one crosses back over from the Atlantic to the Caribbean coast at Pigeon Island.

From Pigeon Island the course involves a short run challenge of 4 km that combines the flat with a hill climb. Don’t worry… the hill climb does have its

rewards, abseil 100 feet down off a cliff on the far side of Pigeon Island. Then it’s a scramble through the woods down to a remote pebble beach.

Dive into the sea like David Hasselhoff and knock off the short swim out to your

Ocean Kayak. Climb aboard and start the 2.5 km endurance kayak back to LeSPORT along the Northern coast line of Saint Lucia.

When you finally step out onto our warm sand, not only will you be part of an exclusive few to have completed the circuit but the team and the crowds will be

there to welcome and cheer you on!

The West Coast Tour Travelling the spectacular Caribbean West coast, your 9am start

will take its first breather at the Morne Fortune look-out point to take in the sights of the island’s capital and the chance for a quick picture opportunity. Moving inland, you will then witness the Island’s largest banana plantation at the Roseau Valley - 1600 acres of land. Making your way through the rainforest area of Grande Bois, you will emerge in the famed fishing village of Anse La Raye before heading further south along the coast until reaching your final destination, the original capital of St. Lucia - Soufriere. Home of the island’s volcano, sulphur springs, waterfalls and botanical gardens. This seemingly untouched town has a wealth of sites to visit. There you will have the option of bathing in the mineral baths before heading off for a well-earned local lunch (Supplementary). Your return trip to the north will be all along the coastal road and through the safe haven of Marigot Bay for a final photo stop.

River Doree Rappel: The River Doree Rappel begins with a west coast drive to the south of the island.

Once there, you will be given a thorough briefing on the abseil and all safety factors involved. Now that you are ready, you will begin the

rappel into a 120ft gorge and land feet first into a shallow river bed. You will

then wade your way through the river and hike a moderate incline back to the vehicle. The tour continues with a sumptuous lunch served at a local restaurant

of your choice (supplementary), followed by a visit to the Diamond Waterfalls and then back to The Body Holiday.

En Bas Saut: This hiking trail takes you into the interior of the island to the Edmund Rainforest

where the challenge of the En Bas Saut (Under The Waterfall) trail begins. The hike will take about 40 minutes and leads you over some uneven terrain

down-hill into the waterfall where you may have a refreshing swim before taking

the exit trail for about 50 minutes. This tour leaves the hotel at 7:00am and should be back for 3pm. You will need to wear hiking boots, trainers or sneakers

and a bathing suit under your clothes. The cost is inclusive of transport and en-trance fees, lunch is supplementary.

You will need to be of moderate fitness level.
