Consumer Affairs & Right to public service act and fair Business practice.

Programmes for awareness about women self help group, Panchyets, Elected Members &

Others :-

In this year 2016-17 nearly 100 campaigns, 50 seminars, 15 consumer affairs mediation are

conducted by us. In presence of Asst. Director Sri Ananta Bhattacharjee, Sri Bijoy Choudhary

DAD,also Mr Dipankar Gyen, consumer welfare officer, BIRDS secretary and also members. There

are more than 10 thousand people have been involved in surrounding Birbhum district and also

every block and panchayets. In every Puja Mondap we aware public about their right by

presentation of C.Ds show. District administration specially Dist. Magistrate Mr. P. Mohan Gandhi

IAS, Additional Dist. Magistrate (Development) Mr. Raghunath Jha WBCS Executive and SDO

Madam Mrs. Arundhuti Bhoumik present and cooperation all these programmes.

National Consumer Day and World Consumer Right held at Suri, Birbhum conducted by BIRDS.

S.H.G Formation and bank linkage in the collaboration with NABARD:-

S.H.G are now income generation programme of the rural poor, especially women also improve

their self empowerment. Poor women involve in this S.H.G group belongs to the economically

backward family. There are more than 200 SHG groups in Suri, Sainthia, Dubrajpur, Muraroi-2 and

also municipal areas of Birbhum district. Monthly savings of this group goes to 20 to 50 rupees per

month per SHG members. This makes the saving habit through maintenance the pass book, meeting

resolution book, accounts book & debit book. In the mean time they practiced the internal lending

each other and also learn the bank operating system. After 6 to 8 months of their total savings they

get loan amount to 4 times of there total savings. We trained themselves for their self financial

dependence providing various training in this year. We support two incense stick making training

and one soft toys training with the collaboration of NABARD. (Poor woman has generated their

income about 1500/- rupees per month. We provide them necessary raw materials with reasonable

price and also we buy their products at market price. There are four leadership and five awareness

generate programme completed collaboration with NABARD at Suri Vidyasagar College with the

presence of honourable Birbhum Zilla Sabhadhipati Mr Bikash Roychoudhary, D.D.M of

NABARD, Principal of Vidyasagar College, Prof S.Sen, A.Mondal student of Rural Development

section of Bisha Bharati, Advocate Sekher Mukerjee President of BIRDS, A.Ganguli, Sabyasachi

Mukerjee secretary of BIRDS present there.

Issues of the topics: 1. Problems of various Bank linkages.

2. Maintanence of exercise books.

3. How to written resolution.

4. About various training, advice about health concern, Formation of new groups.

5. Legal advice and also about domestic violence.

Those are the newly formed groups below-

“NABAJANMA”,”PRAYASH”Rabindranath” “Nazrul” etc.

D.D.M of NABARD discussed any problem of formation new groups and how to solve it.

Birbhum Zilla Sabhadhipati Mrs Annapurna Mukharjee also discussed how to tackle their problem

and to improve their income generation with their own resources.

S.Sen (Prof of Economics S.V College) lectured the importance of S.H.G and also its impact on

rural society.

In Dubrajpur near Block office auditorium hall we conduct a leadership programme with the

presence of respected B.D.O of Dubrajpur block Amit Das, Panchayet Prodhan Naru Mal,

Chairman of Dubrajpur Municipality Pijus Panday, also others dignitaries and secretary of BIRDS

present there and programme continue from 11am to 4pm on 11th sep to 15th sep 2015. More than

100 to 160 participants present there. There are 20 new groups formed namely – “Amtita”,

“Niyoti”, “Subhash”, “Mahakali”, “Sonar Bangla”, “Alor Pradip”, “Suker Thikana”, “Jiban”,

“Asha”, “Arundhati” etc. All the groups open their bank account in State Bank of India to save Rs.

30 per month. Each groups contain average 10 to 12 women members. In Sree Sree Nandesari Seva

Samity, Sainthiya conduct awareness campaign plus S.H.G leadership training programme with

the presence of Mr. Parekh, Chairman of Sainthiya Municipality, Mr. Prasanta Roy, Panchayet

Prodhan, Mrs. Nupur Santhra counceller of Sainthiya Municipality , Avoy Ganguli, Prof of

Economics Sainthiya College , Secretary of BIRDS, Dr Anupam Dhar of block Medical Officer of

Sainthia, Mr Ajoy Roy Branch manager SBI Sainthiya, Mr Ashim Roy Bank Manager Paschim

Banga Grameen Bank, Mr Rabi Deb Mukherjee Asst. Director Consumers Affairs and others. The

meeting was held from 14th to 15 Sep 2015 at 11Am to 4Pm .

2. How to write Resolution.

3. Importance of saving habits.

4. Regular deposit.

5. Health consciousness.

6. Legal advice about domestic violence.

7. Importance about group meetings.

10 new groups formed instant namely- “Natun Path”, “Alo”, “Disha”, “Niyati”, “Rajani Gondha”.

Most of the groups are mainly women. They are responsible to save 50 Rupees per head per month

to the Bank. We linkage those groups near U.B.I Bank and Paschim Bangha Grameen Bank. In

Muraroi near Jajigram primary school we conduct two days leadership programme from 20th Oct

to 22nd Oct 2015 in the presence of Mrs. Subamita Das Pradhan of Jajigram panchayet, Mr Akhil

Roy B.D.O of Muraroi , Sk Sala Uddin Sabhapati Panchayet Samity., BMOH of Paikor Dr Ali and

Secretary of BIRDs. Average participation of peoples was nearly 70 to100.

In those meeting ten newly groups formed namely “Sattya”, “Pirbaba”, “Salam”, “Golap”,

“Allarakha”, “Protidondhi”, “Semana Parai”, “Jibanbhor”,”Jaba”, “Unnayan of jajigram”, .

Those groups are responsible to save 20 Rupees per head per month. Out of ten groups two are men

groups contain 10 to 15 members in each groups. We linkage those groups in U.C.O bank Paikor,

and Paschim Bangha Grameen Bank.

In Rampurhat -1 we conduct the same programme near Nischintapur Primary school it was two

days programme from 22nd Sep to 24th Sep of 2015 with the presence of B.D.O Rampurhat 1 block,

Birbhum Zilla Sabhadhipati, Panchayet Prodhan Manaka Dhibar, BMOH Dr Suresh Ghosh, Prof of

Rampurhat College, Mr Dinabondhu Sarkar. And Secretory of BIRD.

Topic of Discussion almost same with the others programmes.

Five newly groups formed with in two days programme those groups are namely “Zorha”, “Asar

Pradip”, “Damaunti”, “

pradip”, “Ma Jagodomba” “Nirmal Alo”,. All the groups are mainly women groups those who are

responsible for 50 Rupees monthly savings. Each group contains 15 women with regular savings.

We have linkaged those groups in the near by Union Bank, UBI Bank and Paschim Bangha

Grameen Bank.

Programmes related health:

Leprosy patients’ camp:

We have initiated with this programme in dec 2016 and it runs in every month onward. It generally

held at Block Primary health centre with the presents of Govt. doctors and our physiotherapist and

four physicians from leprosy mission hospital Kolkata. They send vaccine to every Block Primary

Health centre over the Birbhum district in presence of every BMOH of that centres.

In last Leprosy patients’ camp held on December with 70 to 80 patients at B.P.H.C.

SANITARY MART:- This year we have started sanitary mart construction inSURI -1

BLOCK,Naguri panchyet,under Birbhum Zilla parisad and presently constructed only 14mart in

this time.16-17.

Consumer Awareness camp:

We arrange every months Consumer Awareness camp. We conduct this programme in the small

villages and schools, colleges in presence BDOs and Municipal Chairman, Panchyat Samiti’s

Sabapati. It is great success.

Others health care programmes:

Under the programme of the Govt. of W.B we currently engage in training of various people in the

panchayet label for rendering basic health care to the patients. We conducted 40 programme in

different blocks in the district of Birbhum. Under DOT programme we use to provide different

types of service like supply of medicines, blood test and awareness programmes for T.B patients.

More than 150 T.B patients under treatment presently without any cost /free service. This year

2015-16, we have conducted 4health campaigns with Naryana super speciality Hospital Howrah.

World water day:

The main trust of the programme is prevent water pollution and water preservation and conservation

of water nearly 100 women from the SHG groups, NCC cadets also general people participate in

awareness rally in the town. Secretary of BIRDS S.Mukerjee and other Dignitaries delivered lecture

on this programme.

Vocational training Programmes:

Such type of programmes we conduct all over the year. This year we have trained up nearly 80 to

100 women belonging to the poor section of the society, financially backward. Those who formed

SHG groups made soft toys training, Preparation of dolls through different kinds of articles of the

houses, incense stick making training, preparation of leather bags etc. Preparation of Vermi

Compost, Bio fertilizer, Liquid Manure for the peasants only.

Under K.S.Y nearly 1000 adulation girls were trained up in the presence of CDPO .

Secretory of BIRDS and members also present there. Here also discussed about how to improve

there life, how they get Govt. schemes facilities.

In last month of the year we conducted Beauticians training course of poor women of the society

belonging to the age groups 18 to35. Nearly 50 women participate in this programme. In the

training period we provided Tiffin and Rs. 30/- Most of the participations are minority community,

S/Ts and S/Cs. After the complete of there training we provide themselves certificate of efficiency

in the presence of Secretary of BIRDs, CDPO, and others.

Legal Aids:

We serve legal aids to those deprive women from the society and also from the family. There are 50

to 100 women are helped by our organisation in presence of Judicial magistrate and also sub judge.

Environment pollution free:

We arrange Afforest ration programme in every year of June -July month we provide seeds,

fertiliser, plants of different fruits. Students are participate in this programme in the presence of,

Dist. Forest officer, Secretary of BIRDS and others personalities.

They gave lecture on importance of forest, how environment polluted and also conducted LCD

presentation in Poli Technique College. Birbhum Engineering College, Birbhum Mahavidyalaya in

the present of principal and director. We have supply free seeds and plants to farmers and school,

college premise of their headmaster and principal.

Cultural Programmes and Huts:

We conduct cultural programmes and gramin mala (fair) with the help of Birbhum Zilla Parisad and

NABARD. Basically products made by the group’s members and also the trainer’s exhibit here for

marketing. The mela was held at Birbhum Zilla School Ground by participants with DIC,

NABARD, DRDC, and Health Dept.

15TH August Celebration 2015-16:-

A great day of our 69thIndependence Day 2015-16celebrated at Rajnagar,Bhabanipur G.P by tribal

people through our organization. eIGHTTribal Football Teams has been participated on that

program. The presentGuest Mr snajay tangra I>C>Rajnagar,S.P.MR ALOK BAJORIA and flag

hoisted and also started Football Match. The secretary of BIRDS, eminent teacher and other

dignitaries, where present there. The tribal people honoured to guest by dancing their traditional

dancing team. The huge numbers of public present there and they enjoyed it very much. DDM,

NABARD discussed about SHG group and other development work by NABARD.

Future planning: 1. Dattopant thengadi National Board For Workers Education and Development Ministry of Labour

& Employment, Govt. of India Asansol, Collabrotaded traning programme of unorganized labour

continue for sustainable development.

2. Consumer Awareness, Seminars, Right to Public Service act and Various Experimental

Programme about color in food and imitation of useable daily articles.

3. Trained up more women by giving various training to become self empowerment.

4. Sanitary Mart of Nirmal gram yojana under Birbhum Zilla parisad,2015-16.

5. For disabled persons helps to achieve govt. disabled certificate, medical camp check-up also

support fund.

6. Shelter home deprived women.

7. Technical and non-technical institution.

8. Renewable energy development to the village and small city.

9. Up gradation for new farming.

10. Skill development training.

11.Health awareness and environment awareness programme.

12.Life style development of unorganised workers.

The year F.Y. 2016-17 has gone by with its successful completion. The organization entered into 2017-18 with a vibrant note. True to its tradition, the organization has completed the year 2015-16 on a very workaholic note.
