    Ovarian Cyst- a fluid-filled sac. one or more of which may

    develop in the ovary. Although most ovarian cyst arenot malignant, they may reach a very large size,

    causing gross swelling of the abdomen and pressureon surrounding organs.

    Causes:

    -Xenostrogens are suspected of causing ovarian cyst.-Ovarian cysts are products filled or disordered ovulation.

    -Formed when the follicle does not release its eggs and thefollicle continues to grow forming cyst.-Can also be performed even if the follicle release theegg is released close up, the corpus luteum is not

    formed and the cyst continues.

    Signs and Symptoms

    -Dual aching or severe, sudden and sharp pain or

    discomfort in the lower abdomen.pelvis,vagina,lower

    back or thighs, pain maybe constant or intermittent.-Fullness,heaviness,pressure,swelling or blotting

    in the abdomen.

    -Breast tenderness, pain during or shortly orafter beginning or end of menstrual period.

    -Irregular periods or abdominal uterine bleeding or

    spotting.

    -weight gain,nausea.fatigue.headaches.-Strange pain in ribs which feel muscular.

    -Strange nodules that feel like bulges under

    the layer of the skin.-Increase facial hair,infertility,bloating.

    Types of Ovarian Cyst1.Fucntional Cyst-are easily and most common

    of all varieties of all ovarian cyst.2.Curpos Luteum Cyst-this type of functional

    ovarian cyst after an egg has been released fromfollicle.

    3.Hemorrhagic Cyst-this type of functional

    cyst occurs when bleeding occurs with in thecyst.

    sometimes referred to us mature cystic teratoma.5.Endometriomas or Endomtroid Cyts-this type of

    leteum clear, straw colored fluid.

    findings do not require treatments.

    -in postmenopausal patient, a persistentsimple cyst smaller than 5cm in dimension is

    the presence of normalCA 125maybemonitored serial ultrasonographyexaminations.

    -premenopausal woman with asymptomiccysts smaller than 8cm on ponograms in

    whom the 125CA value as with in the

    reference range maybe monitored with repeatultrasonography examination 8-12 weeks..

    -Watchful waiting-in many case you canwait and be re-examined to see if the cyst

    goes away on its own with in a few months.

    -Birth control-your doctor may recommendbirth control pills to reduce the chance of new

    cyst developing in future menstrual cyst.
