ACT/SAT Boot Camp April 5 -July 15 Spring Session 2020 The ACT/SAT Boot Camp is a personalized ACT and/or SAT prep course condensed into twelve weeks. The goal is for students to learn all content and skills needed to succeed on the ACT and/or SAT, reaching their target scores during the July test. April 5 - July 15 Students receive a weekly one-on-one session and attend a weekly group session. Course content: English usage and rhetorical skills, pre- algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, algebra 2, coordinate geometry, planar geometry, trigonometry, number theory, statistics, probability, reading speed and comprehension, understanding of scientific charts and graphs, data analysis and manipulation, writing techniques and perspective analysis. While the same overall content and skills needed for the tests are taught to every student, each one-on-one lesson plan is personalized according to the student's learning style and collegiate goals. Additional skills to be targeted include: Maximum Achievement Enhance Cognitive Skills Develop Learner Autonomy Strengthen Strategic Thinking Prepare for College-Level Learning Susan Joy has a masters of education in instruction, an MBA, and is a certified cognitive skills trainer. She has repeatedly achieved perfect scores on the ACT and has been teaching the test for fifteen years. Working with high school students across all subject areas, Susan is proficient in all content areas of the assessment tests. She relates the material to help students comprehend more of what they see in high school and nurtures the skills students need to be successful in college. With five years' experience designing international live courses, online courses, and enduring materials in the medical education arena, Susan transfers the hands-on, blended-learning format that is successful in adult education to her students' individualized programs.
