he Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series event in Bermuda wille held October 16th - 18th, 2015. It is an international racing circuit

eaturing all six America’s Cup teams competing on foiling, wing-ailed 45ft catamarans known as the AC45F.

he Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series is the first stage ofompetition for the 35th America’s Cup to be held in Bermuda in017 and an early opportunity for the Teams to put points on the

board that carry forward into the next stages of thecompetition.

Following the opening events in Portsmouth, Englandand Gothenburg, Sweden, Emirates Team New Zealandis at the top of the leaderboard, with Land Rover BAR (UK)

and ORACLE TEAM USA chasing.

he teams use AC45 catamarans, alsonown as AC45F, in the Louis Vuitton

America’s Cup World Series events.

he AC45F is a one-design wingsailatamaran with foils that allow the boatso rise out of the water, supported only onhe foils. Once out of the water, the boats

achieve speeds of up to twice the speed ofthe wind they are saiing in. The AC45F isa one-design class - each boat is identical.This differs from the America’s Cup in 2017where the engineering and design teamscan make modifications within tight designrules to improve the performance oftheir team’s boat.

he race course is located in the Great Sound foroth races each day. The exact orientation andimension of the Great Sound race course will beetermined by the weather conditions on the day.

Great Sound for race one of each day and

n Hamilton Harbour for race two, providingiewing opportunities for both on water and onand spectators.

he AC45F is capable of extreme speeds,herefore to ensure public safety, the racingrea, including the ship’s channel into Hamilton

Harbour must be clear of any commercial trafficr recreational marine traffic from one hour before

the start of the first race and until the last boat hasfinished the last race of the day.

Boaters must adhere to a five knots speed limitduring and after the race and must not followthe boats into the Hamilton Harbour during therace. Boats will be able to enter the harbour after3:30pm.

RECREATIONAL BOATERSRecreational Boaters who want to watch the races from the Public Spectator Zones mustollow all race course marshaling rules and instructions. All boaters can register at www.slandtourcentre.com from September 21, to receive up to the minute safety and race coursenformation. Registration is required for boats over 50 feet LOA.

OFFICIAL SPECTATOR BOATSMembers of the public without access to their own boats can buy tickets online atwww.islandtourcentre.com for front row viewing of the races on Official Spectator boats.hese boats will have reserved spaces along the edge of the race course forming part ofhe race course boundary.
