Equality in Access

The primary responsibility of public agencies with regard to the ADA is to provide equal access toPROGRAMS, SERVICES, & ACTIVITIES

Title II Requirements

1. Complete a Self-Evaluation of programs and policies

2. Develop an ADA Complaint Procedure

3. Designate a person who is responsible for overseeing Title II compliance; and

4. Develop a Transition Plan if the Self-Evaluation identifies any structural modifications necessary for compliance

• Review Town policies• Review the current level of access to

programs and activities using a questionnaire completed by Town staff

• Analyze policies, programs, and activities and make recommendations for improvements

• Policy: “A permit is required to place an obstruction in, on, or over the public right-of-way”
