PUREBranding & identity

I was asked to design an identity for a TV channel called Pure: 26. A television channel dedicated to featuring Irish art and artists in the 21st century. It will have the highest reach of any thematic channel offering documentary, Performance and drama. The client, Pure 26 want the station to bring contemporary art to the masses on a new station owned by the Irish broadcasting station, RTE. After researching the ways in which art is presented to the public, through museums, galleries, books, magazines and other formats, this new station will explore themes such as “Why care about art?” and“Where does art belong?”

A GOOD BOOK HAS NO ENDINGIllustration & Editorial

I was asked to illustrate and design a book for children aged 6 to 12 years. The brief was to take a classic story line from 1860 - 1936 and create a 6 page modern interpretation of the story. It was essential that I maintain the ethos to the original book. For my book I chose the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which was written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900 in the U.S.

CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONSPoster design

The aim of this project is to visually document my interpretation of a clash of civilizations.. The challenge was to determine the angle of view and the tone used. It could be as dark of light as deemed necessary to convey my concept. I focused on the differences between urban and rural areas with a view that urban areas are better. The argument is made by facts about the two areas and also light hearted text describing the positives of living in an urban area and the negatives of living in a rural area.

VISUALIZING THE MUSICTypography & Photography

The aim of this project was to create visuals based on the lyrics of a song. The final piece had to be a digital download that would accompany the album. I designed two desktop wallpapers and a printable poster. The song I chose was to Mother of Pearl by Nellie McKay.

Can’t these chicks do anything

but whine?

Boo-Hoo!

Feminists don’t have a sense of humor,Feminists just want to be alone. (boo-hoo)Feminists spread vicious lies and rumors,They have a tumor on their funny bone.

They say child molestation isn’t funny, Rape and degradation’s just a crime. (lighten up ladies!)Rampant prostitution, sex for money (what’s wrong with that?!)Can’t these chicks do anything but whine? Dance breakWoo-hoo(Take it off)

“DON’T FORGET YOUR...” ELECTRIC PICNIC Promotional & Poster design

I was asked to design a poster and V.I.P. passes for Electric Picnic 12’. To do this I first had to create a theme for the solution. I collected all forms of images that represent my theme. One of the best parts of any planned event is looking forward to it and the excitement before hand. I decided to focus on that as my theme for my final piece. I then had to plan out my design and establish as slogan that is going to represent the weekend. The slogan used to represent the theme was “Don’t Forget Your...” The image of the speech bubbles represent people chatting and talking to one another about what to bring and what they are going to see and do during the upcoming weekend.

THE YEAR OF THE FORESTPoster design

Each year the Tree Council of Ireland asks students to design a poster for the theme of the upcoming year. The year I was asked to take part the theme was “Celebrating forests for people”
