Adaptation B – The Sound Collector Script 3.0

(opening title fade in) (fade out)

Door opening – (clicking sound is heard)

1____A stranger called this morning

darkness, doorbell sounds, fade in to reveal mid/far distance shot of front door from

hallway

shadow of ‘sound collector’ visible through glass in door.

Dressed all in black and grey

Cut to mid distance shot showing entire doorframe 

door opens revealing the sound collector 

Cut to close-up shot of legs/feet of sound collector (right of shot), bag is dropped into shot

Put every sound into a bag

cut to mid shot of the bag as the device is retrieved

And carried them away 

Sound collector retrieves a device from inside

Device shot - device main switch is flipped and lights turn on

2____The whistling of the kettle

cut to Close-up

Still shot of kettle on stove (kettle whistling is heard), device enters/is already on side of

shot, kettle has an ‘aura’ of colour around it, the rest of the kitchen is grey. Device switches

on and drains the kettle of its colour and the whistling quietens until it is grey and silent.

Show kettle with sound and colour, show device on and working, show object draining of

sound and colour.
