Every living thing needs energy to live. The sun produces energy. The suns' light lets plants make their own food and grow. when plants grow, other animals eat the plants to get energy. You are learning about how living things get food and why that relationship is called a food chain. A food chain is the transfer of energy from one living thing to another living thing.

Please give a definition and examples. Then, get together with your group and discuss the roles of the producers, consumers and decomposers, and how they are linked together. Next, your group will make a drawing of a food web on a poster. I would like to see everyone in the group involved in the drawing. You should each be responsible for drawing the part that you researched. Finally, your group will make a presentation to the class. You will show your poster and each one will explain the role of the part of the food web that you have researched.
